@Metaldad66 @VanHalen I meant to say >> how do **WE** know which time he was telling the truth. But yes later on he soured on the covers (I still say that was partly during his grumpy era 😀) Funny in 1982 as a kid the covers never really entered my mind. I was just happy to have a new VH album! 🍻

4/14/1982 — @VanHalen release Diver Down. An album that exudes a fun, summertime vibe w some amazing VH tunes, a few great EVH solo pieces & some cool Van Halenized covers they always made their own. Listen how Ed loved and defended it (vs how he disparaged it decades later) ...
