When people say the Professor is just one person who sits in one place, that may be true — but let’s not forget how universities work. A Professor sets exams and sometimes sends invigilators to supervise on his behalf. Yes, some students may still find ways to cheat (chukuli), but it is the Professor’s responsibility to create a marking scheme that exposes such malpractice. In the end, the bulk of responsibility stops at his desk. If malpractice happens and he endorses it, then he becomes part of the problem. Nigerians have entrusted him with one of the highest responsibilities in the land — the independence of our electoral commission — and with that comes the expectation of nothing less than transparent, free, and fair elections. We cannot continue to make excuses for public officials. A Professor, by virtue of his training and intellect, should know when integrity demands resignation. If at anytime during his sting at the helm of affairs, Professor Joash Ojo Amupitan (SAN), the INEC Chairman, finds that he cannot uphold the standards expected of him, then he should step aside and preserve his name. No excuses, Professor. @inecnigeria #FreeAndFairElectionsInNigeria #INEC

Between a Nigerian soldier and his pregnant wife. Pregnancy is never easy for both wife and husband. While she feels the uneasiness that comes with pregnancy, he feels the pressure that comes from being responsible for her pregnancy. The officer explained that after fetching water for his pregnant wife, she said the water had gone bad due to its scent and demanded that he fetch a fresh one.😂😂

Press Release April 30, 2026 Assumption of National Leadership of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) @OfficialPDPNig by the Board of Trustees (BoT). It is with the utmost sense of duty and responsibility that the Board of Trustees (BoT) of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) assumes leadership of our great party today, Thursday, 30th April, 2026 pursuant to the empowering provisions of the Constitution of the PDP (As amended in 2017). This constitutional intervention of the BoT is so as not to allow any leadership vacuum at the national level of our party following judgment of the Supreme Court. Sadly, the Supreme Court, today delivered an unpleasant judgment against our party in which it pronounced an invalidation of the 15th to 16th November 2025 National Convention of the PDP held in Ibadan, Oyo State, which produced the Kabiru Tanimu Turaki-led National Working Committee of our Party. While the Supreme Court invalidated the Ibadan Convention, it also in a unanimous decision of the five justices on the panel, upheld the suspension of Senator Samuel Anyanwu, Hon. Umar Bature, Kamaldeen Ajibade as National Secretary, National Organizing Secretary and National Legal Adviser respectively from the Party. The implication of today’s judgment by the Supreme Court is that all actions taken by Senator Samuel Anyanwu, Hon. Umar Bature and Barr. Kamaldeen Ajibade including the appointment of Abdulrahman Mohammed as Acting National Chairman, the composition of the National Caretaker Working Committee and the conduct and outcome of the March 29th, 2026 Convention in Abuja are illegal, null and ab initio void. The consequential invalidation of both the Abdulrahman Mohammed-led as well as the Kabiru Tanimu Turaki-led Working Committees directly places the statutory onus of leadership of our great party on the shoulders of the Board of Trustees (BoT) as the Second Highest Organ of the Party, pursuant to the express and unambiguous provision of Section 32 (5) of the PDP Constitution (as amended in 2017). Against this backdrop, the BoT hereby immediately assumes responsibility of the national working leadership of the PDP as immediate constitutional remedial steps to foster genuine reconciliation, salvage, stabilize and return the party to good political health. In the light of the foregoing an emergency meeting of the National Executive Committee (NEC), pursuant to the provisions of Section 31 of the Constitution of the PDP will be summoned to, among other things, appoint an Interim National Working Committee to take charge of the National Secretariat of our Party and pilot the affairs of the Party at the national level so as to meet all the timeline in the Electoral Act, 2026 and ensure that the PDP fields candidates and also emerged victorious in all elective positions in the 2027 general elections. Consequently, all staff of the PDP are hereby directed to resume at the National Secretariat of the Party under the leadership of the BoT ahead of the appointment of the Interim National Working Committee. The BoT commends the courage, effort and resilience of our governors, Governor Bala Mohammed and Governor Seyi Makinde, the National Assembly caucus, the National Ex-officios, the Forum of PDP State Chairmen and State chapters, the Youth and Women Wings and other organs and bodies in the PDP for standing strong for the party at this trying time. The BoT therefore calls on all leaders and members of the party to jettison all personal and group interests and come together as one family in the overall interest of our Party, democracy and the wellbeing of millions of Nigerians whose hope are anchored on the PDP. The PDP has suffered enough; the painful victims of this unfortunate episode is the Nigerian people. The time has therefore come for us to make sacrifices, sheathe our swords and embrace genuine reconciliations for lasting peace and chart a new course for our party. Signed: Senator Adolphus Wabara, Ph.D Chairman, BoT

These guys must be living in a fool’s paradise, and this level of denial needs to stop. If I may ask, what exactly is the clear difference between the recent Supreme Court judgment and the earlier Court of Appeal ruling that had you all so unsettled? And why didn’t the acclaimed BOT step up to its responsibility immediately after the judgment of the court of first instance? At some point, you all need to set aside bigotry, pride, and arrogance and face reality. My advice: either realign with the Abdulrahman-led leadership or consider your options elsewhere. These unnecessary rhetorics will only lead to further delays. The ship has already sailed. @seyimakinde and @SenBalaMohammed need to do the needful and now!!!

OUR PARTY MUST NOT DIE …being the position of Governors and critical Stakeholders of the Peoples Democratic Party. @OfficialPDPNig As genuine leaders of the Peoples Democratic Party, we have received the Judgment of the Supreme Court delivered through a panel of Justices headed by Justice Mohammed Garba. The judgement which dismissed the appeal filed by Turaki’s NWC against the judgment of the Court of Appeal, which nullified the Elective National Convention of the Party held at Ibadan November, 2025, also dismissed the cross appeals by Sen. Sam Anyanwu and his co-travellers seeking to upturn the judgment of the Court of Appeal which upheld the suspension of A.K. Ajibade San, Sen. Sam Anyanwu and others. The interpretation of this judgement clearly leaves the party without any recognised leadership, as both groups previously laying claims to the leadership have been divested of al interests by this judgement. We cannot therefore in good conscience allow the party to become rudderless and without direction. We have noted the take-over of leadership of the party by the authentic Chairman of the Board of Trustees, Sen. Adolphus Wabara- a move we are not opposed to. This body, serving as the conscience of the party must immediately convene a meeting of the National Executive Committee of the party, to take decisions as to the leadership of the party and undertake steps preparatory to activities for candidates’ selection towards 2027 general elections. We urge all our members to remain steadfast, trusting that we will take decisions in the best interest of the survival of our party, not as addendum of the All Progressives Congress. Democracy thrives when there is a vibrant and capable opposition, which aligns with the wishes and interest of the people, not with the government. Soonest, we will, after extensive consultations with the BOT and other critical stakeholders, announce the action plan, for the survival of our party. We can reiterate, that by God’s grace, our party will not die, it will not be handed over to those who want to hold it down for the APC, or those who want to trade and negotiate with it. Like the phoenix, we will surely rise again. PDP! Read by His Excellency, Dr. Muazu Babangida Aliyu, Secretary of the Board of Trustees for and on behalf of the PDP Governors Forum, BOT members, Members of National Executive Committee, Members of National Caucus, Members of PDP Caucus in the National Assembly, former Ministers, State Chairmen and other stakeholders who attended the emergency stakeholders meeting.
