@rezztroalt see the issue is assuming they ARE in a predicament. fortnite rakes in a lot of money, the epic storefront rakes in a lot of money, and somehow people seem to forget that Epic owns and develops Unreal Engine 5, notably the most dominant engine right now. they just want money.

fortnite is already a disgustingly efficient money printer, but people tend to overlook that Epic Games also produces Unreal Engine, notably the most popular game engine right now. they do not need the money and they're not even close to needing it.

I love how is always "console can opt out of pc matchmaking" but the other side is rarely available.
PC players always get stuck with cross-platform lobbies.
Console players not wanting play with PC players is completely legitimate. There is WAY more cheaters and the games are usually more sweaty and less casual.
But that knife cuts both ways. I shouldn't have to play against people who get aim assist and don't like playing as competitively.

In our research lab, we are building “real-time dreaming” - the ability to generate fully playable video worlds prompted from any text or image. Our real-time, action conditioned world model (currently running internally at 16fps at 832x480p) is trained on a combination of data, including proprietary Roblox 3D avatar/world interaction data. World models are different from multiplayer engines in that they store state and memory in video latents. Roblox is multiplayer, and we are actively researching optimal ways to simultaneously store state for thousands of players, and keep them in sync with their environment. Our world model leverages database technology which stores all user interactions on Roblox in a vector format that can be used to re-render video and interaction from any camera angle. We see several immediate uses for our Roblox world model. We will use it side-by-side text, image and video prompts as a way to launch auto-generation of immersive worlds. In Roblox Studio, a creator could walk around and use prompts to “paint” a world and then convert it into a 3D representation or direct to Roblox native as a way for many people to play simultaneously. All of this comes alive as we explore the notion of a “Dream Theater” - where one user is dreaming, while others watch and prompt them. 2/4

BattlEye, in the games being mentioned for having major cheating problems, is properly integrated and yet have major cheating issues. when Bungie announced a D2 anticheat, it took a while for it to be integrated, and still sucks.

@scaredOfTheLarp @0npam The core misunderstanding is treating anticheat like a bandaid you can buy off the shelf and slap on to magically stop all cheats. Effective anticheat requires integration specific to the game. A majority of the cheats in destiny exist because of it’s underlying architecture.

It needs to be studied how battleeye has gotten away with scamming AAA game studios for years. Every major game that uses battleeye I can think of is a cheater infested disaster.
In Destiny 2 I run into way more cheaters now than I did before they added battleeye!
A lot of the hate for marathon unjustified but this is a real L 😕
