@SNY_Mets @chelsea_janes Throwing another aging veteran who underperforms into the mix isn't the best idea. Bring up some youth and energy and see what happens. Mets need life added, not payroll and position suck like a Story would be. Enough with these DFA players getting AB's just because L/R matchups

This is a poor example of management not putting the team in a position to win. A player hitting .095 on season started, made 2 errors because of R/L splits. Put best 9 players on field at this point. It’s enough…

@SNY_Mets Austin Slater was DFA because he can't hit... Melendez was 2/2 and hitting .345... At least if Melendez got out, he could say "I am managing by feel & Melendez is hot, so I went with my gut"... To say "Slater is here to hit lefties, obviously" is BS. It was obvious to let MJ Hit

Case in point as to why this is not Carlos Mendoza's fault. Who, exactly, is he supposed to pitch in these spots? At some point, the players have to perform.

@michaelgbaron The biggest issue is leadership. There is no leader. Lindor’s leadership was cut into by Soto, Soto is not a leader (nor was expected to be), Pete not only left HR gap, but he also was a leader behind Lindor, right now they are playing as individuals trying to find their way.

The biggest issue for the #Mets over the first week isn't their offense, or their problem with RISP. It's the sloppy, lazy play behind their pitching. That includes miscommunication as well (see last night with Robert/Semien). That part has to be fixed more than anything.

I mean, let’s give benefit of doubt. Is the below lineup really that terrible as there is still time and plenty of good players to trade for or sign: 1-Lindor SS 2-Semion 2B 3-Soto RF 4-Bellinger 1B 5-Vientos DH 6-Baty 3B 7- Alvarez C 8- McNeil/Benge LF 9- Roberts CF

I don’t know what the hell the #Mets are going to do about the back of this pitching staff this winter. They’re stuck with Manaea, Holmes, Peterson and Senga, and only 1 can realistically go to the bullpen. This is not easily fixable.
