@Meuesa05

I read things (ELA 👩‍🏫), I teach things (title 1️⃣ 7/8), & somewhere along the way I raise a little human of my own #clearthelist https://t.co/56ObdIXRyx

This isn’t a class list. The X community has blessed my class needs to make chemo teaching easier. These are items I’ve been recommended for this journey If nothing else, start looking at ways to help yourself incase you end up here too amazon.com/hz/wishlist/ls… #breastcancer

@Crzy_89 Oh boy. Careful with those Name of the Wind books. The author hasn’t come out with the final book and it’s been like a decade. Good books. Took a bit to get into the first but now here I am left hanging

@BCait88 Grandpa bought my daughter an ant farm. No ants included. Finally ordered ants. Dead after 1 day. Ordered again. Dead after 3 days. It was super interesting to watch… and super depressing 😬 we stopped murdering ants after that. I would just get a small fish tank

@CFPExtraYard I would like to tag @Meuesa05. She's teaching through cancer, while raising a family. Having done that myself 14 years ago, I know the kind of strength & effort that takes in all forms.

@Meg_O15 Wow! Printed off and actual scores on it? We get some arbitrary grading we never actually see anywhere. Well done!

@teachthemx3 My daughter was 4 during COVID and we worried about her missing a formative time for these social interactions so since then we encourage her to take a lead at things like this when possible. At first she needed some coaching but at 9 she’s a pro at food ordering

Is it really that rare for a 4 year old to order their own food? Our waitress said she has tables where 13 year olds still have their parents order for them.

This explains a few noteless items I have received! Thank you to the mystery person!
disturbed13@disturbed13

@LingYount I've noticed that I now have to click on "this is a gift" in order to leave a note. In the past, Amazon would automatically send me to the gift message page. This minor change has caused me to accidentally send items to people without leaving a note lol.

Told my daughter I got her a strawberry dress for summer. She replied aww I wish it was a tomato dress. Turns out that’s actually a thing? So now I have to look into a tomato dress for my tomato lover 🍅🍅

Huge misconception in education: that every lesson, activity, etc. has a 1-1 corresponding skill outcome that must be observable and assessable. "Why are you reading aloud to 8th graders? Can't they read?" "Yes. But my reading to them is enriching their souls. So hush up."

Anyone used one of these for hot flashes? It’s 1 AM & again I am awake from hot flashes. $200 is a lot but the waking up & flashes while teaching are brutal. Makes me want to rip my wig off. I added it to my cancer list but want to know it’s worth it amazon.com/dp/B09KCPGWK7/…

@VotersSpeak I was super impressed! They also had beautiful candy and flower bouquets. My insides would have melted at the candy bouquet but the pipe cleaner one was perfect for me. This doesn’t even really capture the size of it

@TolentinoTeach I had an 8th grade class that was split by lunch period. So just as they were FINALLY getting into the writing, they’d have to stop for lunch & then come back all wound up wasting more time getting refocused. It was a nightmare

Students need to learn how to sit, think, and write for extended periods. No phones. No computer. Just their thoughts, the struggle to organize them, and the clarity that comes from deep focus.

I don’t have a masters & don’t write extensively about ed. but I have taught 14 years & was told by our curriculum director that no offense but curriculum writers are better at this than me. I would like to see their resume 🙄
Brian Tolentino M.Ed@TolentinoTeach

Imagine earning a master’s degree, writing extensively about education, and spending countless hours learning to craft lessons — only to be handed scripted plans. Bruh. What are we doing?

A candy that tastes how you remember it, a humidifier you don’t have to refill every night, and a wig that lets you blend in. Sometimes it’s the little things that hit the hardest 🩷 #grateful 5/6
