Prior to Wednesday, Sarasohn was actively involved in Jackson’s campaign operations and had collected $3,000 monthly from Jackson’s gubernatorial committee for “compliance consulting” services through Sarasohn’s firm, Victory First Consulting, which he appears to run out of his home near the nation’s capital. Sarasohn, the former budget director of Bernie Sanders’s 2020 presidential campaign, continues to serve as a paid political operative for the Sanders campaign, receiving roughly $3,000 a month from the Vermont socialist’s reelection committee, salary receipts show. Using his Victory First Consulting email address, Sarasohn set up Jackson’s exploratory Senate committee on July 7 to “test the waters” for a potential bid, following the exit of disgraced Democratic nominee Graham Platner. Sarasohn created bank accounts for Jackson’s formal Senate committee and Fighting for Michigan, a pop-up super PAC specially created to elect el Sayed to the U.S. Senate, at the same Wells Fargo branch based in Washington, D.C. Victory First Consulting and Fighting for Michigan both operate out of a townhome in Silver Spring, Maryland, a suburb outside D.C. Sarasohn previously listed that four-bedroom townhouse as his home address, according to Sarasohn’s own past contributions to other left-wing PACs.

On the day that I contacted Jackson’s campaign about Peter Sarasohn’s dual positions, the Jackson campaign filed a change-of-leadership form declaring 75-year-old retired librarian Beth Edmonds, a former Maine state senator, as its treasurer.
