Our B-Shift personnel assigned to our Marine Station was presented with a Certificate of Appreciation from the USCG Auxiliary recognizing their support during a Memorial at Sea ceremony. We are proud to have assisted in paying tribute to his life and service.

Congratulations to Firefighter Santis for competing in this past weekend’s Wodapalooza event. He did an outstanding job representing our department during the Fittest City Official competition. Way to go, Firefighter Santis — we’re proud of you!

Members certified in Marine Operations have transitioned their dive training from the pool to the ocean. This phase allows crews to practice with their gear in the real-world environment where they will be operating.

On March 12, 2026, at 10:40 a.m., Miami-Dade Fire Rescue assisted @MiamiBeachFire with a vessel fire near the 55 block of Collins Avenue.  Fireboat 21 and Fireboat 73 assisted by applying water and foam to a 40-foot vessel that was on fire, while Air Rescue North provided air reconnaissance.  Crews were able to put out the fire.  There were no reported injuries, with Miami Beach Fire Department safely removing all occupants from the vessel.  The cause of the fire is under investigation. Last week, members of our Miami Beach Fire Department Honor Guard attended the Broward Honor Guard Academy to further their skills and strengthen their ceremonial precision. We are proud of our members for their continued commitment to representing our department with such pride.

Firefighter Henson chose this career because she wanted a life with purpose — one where hard work, teamwork and service to others truly matter. This Women’s History Month, we are proud to highlight and thank her for her many years of dedicated service to our community.

Meet Michelle Henson, a Firefighter/Paramedic with our department. We are fortunate to have Firefighter Henson as part of our team for 26 years. She is currently assigned to Ladder 3 at Fire Station 3.

Before heading out to the beach, be sure to check our current beach conditions at miamibeachfl.gov/beachconditions. Remember, our lifeguards are on duty daily from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. during Daylight Saving Time, which runs now through October. Always swim near a staffed lifeguard tower!

Yesterday our department took part in a 305 Day cafecito-making competition. While we didn’t take home the win, we still had a great time representing our department. A special thank you to Chief White for taking the lead on coffee-making and keeping us well caffeinated!
