A poignant reminder from @johnondrasik of the time we came together as a nation, bonded in the recognition of our prevailing sameness and sorrow. Today, I renew my commitment to never forget 9/11 and moreover, never forget 9/12.
John Ondrasik@johnondrasik

9-11 occurred on a Tuesday. I wrote "Tuesday" as a plea to not forget the lessons of 9-11 after playing Superman at the Concert for NY. Twenty years later?...I'll leave it up to you...🇺🇸

Very excited to guest star on tonight’s @lawandordertv ! The episode, “In God We Trust,” examines more than a brutal murder; it’s an intriguing exploration of faith, power and (alternative) justice. So proud and grateful to have been on board! Huge thanks to @WolfEnt @JSCasting Philip Huffman, Shira Steiner, John Behring, Rick Eid and the team at UIA! #LawAndOrder

@StevenGold67 Thank you for sharing that piece about her life. I just learned she grew up in the next town over from where I grew up and we attended the same university. She was failed in so many regards and I hope some good can come from her sacrifice.

According to reliable sources, the true victim of the subway fire attack was Debrina Kawam, a NJ resident who, I just learned, attended the same college as I did. She did not deserve this horrific end to her life and was failed by others in almost every regard.

Adding to the atrocity comes this AI-generated image which is NOT the true victim in the subway fire attack. What’s the point? We know the point. And it detracts from memorializing the true victim whose pedigree may not be as cultivated (or curated) but whose life mattered nonetheless. Prayers for the true victim.

@VictimsRightsUS I’m horrified and embarrassed by the state of the NYPD today. Before I retired in 2020 I worked closely with Commissioner Tisch and have full faith in her leadership. Hopeful that she can right a sinking ship.

It really makes you wonder if anyone in top brass grew up as a kid wanting to put the uniform on to protect and serve and do the right thing or if they were recruited later in life with the promise of a quick rise to the top. What do they tell themselves as they look in the mirror now that this is all coming out? Now that we all know they sold out Detectives Simonsen, Mora and Rivera, Jonathan Diller and every other police officer killed in the line of duty as well as every NYer they died trying to protect purely for political purposes and self gain Scumbags.

GREAT question!

@NicAtNigh @nypost Absolutely abhorrent. No excuse. They’ll soon be seeing prison bars from a new perspective.

@MichaeIDevine Why hasn’t a single news outlet expressed concern about identifying the victim? Why hasn’t the NYPD provided an update on the effort to ID the victim? Why did multiple police officers walk right by a woman being burned alive with barely a glance? Her life Mattered!

I agree with you John and have no regrets retiring from the NYPD in 2020. Beyond having seen it all—and having seen enough—I saw the writing on the wall. So few are willing to become cops nowadays and even as a 3rd gen cop, I wouldn’t recommend it to anyone. They’re desperate to fill blue uniforms and it shows.

I am disgusted with what the NYPD has become. I debated posting this because the victim’s family deserves better, but people need to understand just how bad it is.

@HackedOffHugh I can’t agree more, Hugh. I love my iPad, but this ad reminded me that I need time away from it. I recently picked up the art of wood carving. Just wood + a knife and it’s been the most calming, mind-clearing activity I’ve found of late. Thanks for speaking out, I’m with you.

@robcesternino I enjoyed this episode, partly because it seemed to me the first episode in which this ultra-performative cast lost their awareness of the cameras and reigned in their “performances” for genuine human exchange.
