What’s your favorite Christmas type thing?

@WindowsByTheSea My thoughts are informed from traditions like co-counseling // re-evaluation counseling; rebirthing; “Grief & Praise” by Martin Prechtel Stories of other people who have processed traumatic feelings; And my own personal embodied experiences.

@WindowsByTheSea Feeling these feelings may feel viscerally unsafe. You have been protecting yourself so long and it requires returning to the scene of the incident and feeling what you felt and expressing what you couldn’t. Tears, sobs, wailing, screaming, shaking, crying, laughing…

@WindowsByTheSea If you have loved ones available, having one or more people to hold space for you to descend into your experience can be helpful but one can do what one can do in solitude.

@WindowsByTheSea If you have a safe environment, affirm to that past part of you that you’re safe, you’re with them, you love them and it’s okay for them to show up however they need to. *** I find a hot quiet bath by candle light can facilitate feeling the feelings and helping them flow.

@WindowsByTheSea And as for Alice: I am well acquainted (and friends of sorts) with Dominic Barter: restorativejusticeontherise.org/dominic-barter… I met him at a gathering on the land of The Possibility Alliance in 2013. He brought his (at the time maybe 7 year old?) daughter Alice. I think of her.

@WindowsByTheSea I have been told he also invented the aspect of water fountains that dissuade people from putting their mouth directly over the outlet hole. The guard. I have no evidence to back his claim other than trusting what my family has told me. It makes sense that he would have done.
