🔥 The Omana – The Firstborn of Wynterscrest🔥 "Not all elves are delicate, swift, or ethereal. Some are built for survival. Some are warriors. Some are the Omana." The Omana are a rugged and unyielding people, born from the unforgiving lands of Wynterscrest. Their blue-tinted skin, broad builds, and hardened features set them apart from their Shinar and Ukami cousins. Where others see the tundra as a place of death, the Omana see home. They are a people forged in the wilds, shaped by battle, bound by their ancestors, and strengthened by an unwavering connection to the land. They are not wanderers or nomads, nor do they construct sprawling cities. Instead, they dwell in stronghold villages, built from thick stone, timber, and insulated hides, nestled deep within the frozen forests and along the jagged cliffs of the northern fjords. The Omana are fierce, practical, and deeply spiritual—but not in the way of priests or temple-worshipers. Their reverence belongs to the spirits of their ancestors, the very bloodlines that have endured for generations. The Omana are warriors, hunters, and survivors. They do not fear death, for to die in battle or by the elements is simply the next step in their journey. But they fight to live, and when they do, it is with a fury and precision that makes them feared by orcs, goblins, and trolls alike. 🔥 The Omana & Their Bloodlines – "The First" The name "Omana" was never theirs to begin with. It is an old misunderstanding—an ancient Shinar word meaning "The First." Each Omana tribe is named after its founding ancestor, the very first of their bloodline. This individual is honored as the "Omana" of their people—their First. The Shinar and Ukami, upon encountering these tribes, mistakenly assumed all of them were simply called "Omana." The name stuck, and though the Omana themselves rarely use it among each other, it has become their identity to outsiders. An Omana's last name is always taken from the first name of their Omana (The First) of their bloodline. They do not carry family surnames but instead bear the name of their ancestor proudly. To dishonor one's name is to dishonor an entire lineage. To lose a name is to be forgotten. 🔥 Naming Traditions & Marriage Marriage merges bloodlines, but the name of the larger or more honored bloodline is taken. If two Omana of equal standing marry, the tribal elders seek guidance from the ancestors and bestow a new name, making their child the Omana of a new bloodline. Taking an Omana name is an oath—it is a lifelong duty to uphold the honor of the First. 🔥 Culture & Society The Omana are communal and deeply tied to tradition. While they share Wynterscrest with barbarian clans, the Omana favor the eastern lands, where forests, fjords, and mountains provide shelter from the harshest storms. Their villages are fortified and self-sufficient, often built near hot springs or deep caves, where geothermal heat sustains them. Elders lead the tribes, their wisdom shaping both warriors and hunters. They cremate their dead, honoring them by integrating their ashes into weapons or armor. Ancestral tombs are carved into mountainsides, vast catacombs where eternal fires burn year-round. Totems, crafted from bone, wood, or ore, are carried as symbols of lineage and protection rather than sources of magic. 🔥 The Omana in War When the Omana fight, they do so without fear. To them, death is not the end—it is merely another step in the journey. They are ferocious, efficient warriors, striking fast and hard, with no wasted movement. Their tactics favor overwhelming aggression, but they are not reckless—they fight with precision. Orcs and goblins are hated enemies, and trolls are killed on sight. The reason for their ancient hatred of trolls is unknown, but the Omana refuse to speak of it. 🔥 The Omana & The Other Elves The Shinar see the Omana as uncivilized kin, too wild and unrefined to be their equals. The Ukami, across the sea in the desert lands, know of the Omana, but contact is rare. The Omana do not seek unity with the other elves. They are their own people. Their identity is rooted in blood and survival. 🔥 Omana Character Traits 🔥 Attribute Bonuses +1 Strength, +1 Endurance 🔥 Passive Skills ✅ Ancestor’s Resilience: Naturally resistant to exhaustion and extreme cold. ✅ Lineage’s Might: When near death, they fight with enhanced strength for one final stand. 🔥 Action Skills ✅ Tundra Rush – A brutal charge that knocks enemies off balance. ✅ Blood-forged Strike – Momentarily fights with the strength of their ancestors, increasing damage for one round. 🔥 Essence Skills ✅ Frostbound Fury – Infuses their weapon with ice, slowing enemies. ✅ Echo of the Fallen – Calls upon an ancestor’s strength to withstand a lethal blow. #ttrpg, #DnD, #Elf, #Dragon, #indiegame, #rpg, #IndieGameDev, @ttrpgcommunity, #osr
