Attorney Michael E. Gates
@MichaelGatesESQ
🇺🇸 for CA Attorney General! Former Deputy Asst. Attorney General, CRT, U.S. Dept. of Justice 🇺🇸 Fighting for the People 🇺🇸 *My PERSONAL Account*

The key informant in the FBI’s East Bay public-corruption probe sent a letter to California Attorney General Rob Bonta in May 2024 warning him that Andy Duong — one of the indicted owners of Evolutionary Homes charged with conspiracy to commit bribery — possessed surveillance footage of Bonta in a “compromising situation.” The letter reveals that Bonta was aware of the scope of the FBI’s investigation for sometime, and the revelation could help explain why Bonta’s re-election campaign spent nearly $500,000 on legal fees related to the Duong case, as reported by KCRA. “I hold you in high regard for your commitment to justice and integrity, which is why I feel compelled to bring this issue to your attention,” wrote Mario Juarez, the founder of Evolutionary Homes and the individual widely believed to be “Co-Conspirator #1” in the January indictments of former Oakland Mayor Sheng Thao, her partner Andre Jones, and David and Andy Duong. “It has also import[ant] that you know that Andy Duong in particular has a recording of you in a compromising situation and that he routinely engages in entertaining elected and other officials to extract recordings without their knowledge for later use in blackmail circumstances,” Juarez wrote. He added that release of such recordings could cause “public embarrassment at the least” or expose “illicit activities, including the use of drugs.” It is unclear whether Juarez was alleging misconduct by Bonta himself or by others. There is no evidence as of yet that blackmail is part of the FBI’s case. However, East Bay political circles have long traded rumors about Andy Duong allegedly capturing public officials in embarrassing situations. His own Instagram posts have shown him encouraging people into awkward scenarios, including one widely viewed video at Evolutionary Homes’ Oakland showroom. The May 9, 2024 letter reads like an outline of the corruption case that would unfold over the next seven months — and its timing suggests it may have been the spark that preceded the June 20 FBI raids on the homes of Thao and the Duongs. Dan Newman, spokesperson for Bonta’s re-election campaign, said the attorney general received the letter and it was “immediately shared with law enforcement and they provided appropriate follow up.” A FBI spokesperson declined to comment, citing the ongoing investigation. Juarez also leveled broader allegations in the letter, accusing the Duong family of “money laundering, illegal political donations, falsification of contracts, and exploitation of straw donors,” and even “facilitating prostitution for elected officials, including minors.” He described Jones receiving large payments for “fictitious work,” totaling $80,000 during Thao’s 2022 mayoral run. (Jones’s federal indictment later alleged he received $95,000 from the Duongs for a “no-show” job.) Juarez, a longtime Democratic insider, has long-standing ties to Rob and Mia Bonta, frequently hosting their fundraisers at his Oakland office

JUST NOW: CA Secretary of State Signals Prosecutions After Our New Cash-for-Signatures Video by O'Keefe @CASOSVote

CALIFORNIA ELECTIONS FRAUD CASH FOR BALLOTS PART I: Homeless Bribed with Cash & Drugs In Exchange For Registering To Vote & Signing Election Petitions Caught On Tape Undercover On Skid Row In California. “You can just put Pinocchio Lane.” California NGOs Encourage Fake Addresses To Homeless People To Sign Petitions & Register Voters, A State & Federal Felony. Footage Shows 28 Instances Of Cash Changing Hands For Ballot Signatures & Voter Registration Forms. Many of the petitioners had no understanding of the petitions’ purpose they were advertising. Circulators also instructed individuals to use fake addresses. “Oh, you can just fake an address.” Weingart Center, which received hundreds of millions in public funding, is on tape directing people to where the fraudulent petitioners are located, and directing homeless individuals to petitioners & coaching plausible deniability. “See they say ignorance is no excuse for the law. But a lot of times, I have to say ‘I didn’t know, I had no idea.’” We encountered 28 instances of petitioners offering cash, cigarettes, and marijuana for signatures on petitions. Weingart employees advised: “See they say ignorance is no excuse for the law. But a lot of times, I have to say ‘I didn’t know, I had no idea.’” All happening outside taxpayer-funded housing organizations. Weingart CEO earned $432,000 before resigning from the Los Angeles County Affordable Housing Solutions Agency. James O’Keefe and the OMG Team went undercover on Skid Row, posing as homeless individuals. On hidden cameras, petitioners admitted they are paid $7–$10 per signature, sometimes earning $1,000 or more per day, collecting signatures from individuals with minimal knowledge of what they were signing. “$7 a signature, $5 a signature, $10 a signature.” “We gon’ give you $2.” Populus Inc., a political consulting firm, was circulating petitions funded by @Uber, @Delta, @United, and the American Hotel & Lodging Association (@AHLA). On camera, one petitioner said, “We have one that taxes billionaires 5%. One-time tax. 5% and that’s gonna go towards healthcare.” Other petitions sought to overturn LA’s $30 minimum wage for hotel and airline workers. Paying per signature and encouraging fake addresses violates federal and state election law and is proof of fraud happening in California. Weingart employees were caught directing the homeless to the location of the petitioners and coaching them on plausible deniability. Intake coordinator Jason Warren told an undercover journalist exactly where and when to find them: “Most time they be right across the street, under that tree… Monday through Friday.” In 2016, nine individuals were arrested on Skid Row for exchanging cash and cigarettes for signatures; in 2019 they were charged on 14 counts under the exact same California Elections Code section. Yet when confronted, nearby LAPD officers dismissed the activity as “a civil lawsuit.” “Paying per signature violates state election law and is evidence of election fraud in California,” the investigation concludes. On Skid Row, we captured conduct on tape that violates Federal Law 52 U.S. Code §10307 and state law California Election Code §18603.
