Exclusive!!! What a scoop for @DerbyshireCCC who are to become the first county cricket club to install a roof over their HQ ground. The ground at Derby, home to Derbyshire since 1870, will undergo a transformation over the coming three years to produce a venue capable of hosting cricket regardless of the weather, as well as a plethora of other activities. The domed roof will be over 75 metres high at its highest point and is shown here in the finalised architect's impression. The opening ceremony, which will dovetail with the opening game of the 2029 season, will see Derbyshire's players abseil into the arena from the rooftop...

@WG_RumblePants The first cricket book I bought after the Playfair Cricket Annual of 1973 was his autobiography “Cricket Rebel”. He is, in my opinion, one of England’s best fast bowlers. He also batted well enough to even open the batting for Sussex in the John Player League.

John Snow seems to be England’s great forgotten strike bowler. He played 49 Tests between 1965 and 1976, taking 202 wickets at an average of 26.66 and economy rate of 2.68. In his 4 series against Australia, Snow was the leading England wicket-taker 3 times, and at home in 1968, he was 2nd. EW Swanton wrote that he “had not seen an Englishman bowl either faster or better than Snow at Sydney since Tyson”. Perhaps his career and achievements deserve a bit more recognition?

@Gloscricket He was an absolute joy to watch bat, even when he was seemingly easing his way to double centuries against England. He always seemed to enjoy his craft.

ICC Hall of Famer! 🏏 Zaheer Abbas lit up Gloucestershire with 23,186 runs in 415 matches. For Pakistan, he scored 5,062 Test runs at 44.79 and remains the only subcontinental batsman with 100+ first-class centuries! Who remembers watching him? 💛🖤

@Surreycricfan Surely, given what he has achieved - and his outstanding record at Test & ODI cricket - he has to be England’s next coach. He will bring that toughness and total commitment that is needed now.

Jonathan Trott did so much for Afghanistan cricket. Fantastic coach, fantastic role model, it is a shame he has left his position but also extremely excited to see what happens next in his tremendous coaching career 🏏

Another one for the ⁦@NorthantsCCC⁩ kit badgers - and of course the excellent ⁦@RedbackJim⁩. 30 years ago in 1996 the one-day shirt modelled by the limited-overs player of the year Tony Penberthy. More canary yellow than Australian gold ⁦@darren_lehmann? #12thMan

@Argyle Certainly one of Argyle’s best ever players; perhaps the best along with Mariner. They were great times when he was playing for us.

Hyvelle Ferguson-Davis explains to #GHHUnite that she had a stroke, 2 heart attacks and a quadruple bypass. Yet no one had thought to do a genetic test for Lipoprotein (a). As a result, she established @heartsistasinc to help women advocate for themselves. @GlobalHeartHub

At #GHHUnite, Martha Gulati talks about the cost of silence, where women’s heart issues are not discussed in the same way as men’s. She explains that nearly 450,000 US women die from cardiovascular disease each year, 10 times more than breast cancer. @GlobalHeartHub

@1968Tv A great player and one of my favourites. He made it seem as though he wasn’t doing much but he was always achieving a great deal. You did miss his FA Cup Final winning goal.

Happy Birthday to the great Trevor Brooking. 634 league and cup appearances for West Ham and 47 caps for England, and only booked once, probably for being too nice!

@1968Tv Good to see @Argyle featured, as well as our Cornish player and manager, Johnny Hore. He took us to the FA Cup semi final earlier that year. I also interviewed him for my book.

@cricket_badger Strange to have two off-spinners; only one of whom is a specialist. Might have been better to have bowling and batting versatility with Rehan Ahmed or a left-arm specialist in Jack Leach. I’m not convinced this is an Ashes winning team, but we haven’t had that for a long time.

Kudos to @reado007 for completing the London to Brighton for @HeartValveVoice with his heart surgeon. Phill has quite a story to tell about his treatment experience and the importance of early detection via a stethoscope check. Congratulations Phill.
