Germany is still #3 economy & #2 exporter worldwide.
But the model is breaking.
Hard reset needed now:
1. Restore the export engine → Back to 6-7% current account surplus and reinvest it in industry & tech.
2. Crush energy costs → Massive renewables + grids + storage + French nuclear + diversified imports. No more deindustrialization.
3. Real Capital Markets Union → Turn €40T savings into equity, not dead deposits. Let companies scale in a true 450M single market.
4. Lead Europe on defense → 3% GDP + unified hard power with France & UK.
The comeback is a policy choice.
Europe needs a strong Germany again.

UKRAINE: The US taxpayer is sending $2B/mo to Ukraine each month thanks Congress and Biden. The fact neither they nor Trump doesn’t want to send more isn’t abandonment. The best thing the EU could do to end the war is to stop sending $2B a month to Putin for energy.

@marcosagusstinn All subsidised by working families in the US!
When the EU starts ramping up conscription & defense spending those numbers will massively shrink. The EU has no energy independence, massive regs strangling innovation $ huge migration #s stealing benefits and services from citizens

Germany still outperforms the US on the fundamentals that actually define living standards:
• Extreme poverty: Germany <1% vs US ~11–12% below poverty line
• Healthcare: Germany ~100% coverage vs ~8–9% uninsured in the US
• Inequality (Gini): Germany ~0.29 vs US ~0.41
• Life expectancy: Germany ~81 years vs US ~77 years
• Out-of-pocket health costs: ~12–13% Germany vs ~28–30% US
Germany is facing problems driven by the post-2022 energy shock after losing cheap Russian gas — but it still ranks well above the US in core social outcomes.
Market cap and GDP don’t measure how a society actually lives.

German Chancellor Merz should probably spend less time picking fights with President Trump and instead focus on saving himself. His own voters have given up on him Chancellor Merz (CDU) Satisfied: 19% (-2) Dissatisfied: 71% (+1) Don't know/no info: 10% (+1)

@libsoftiktok @GavinNewsom Take out the massive government waste of taxpayers monies (ie taxes) and the corruption / fraud from NGOs wrt homelessness/hospice/learing center scams and the Cali GDP would shrink by 50% (est).

Democrats aren’t joking
They’ll nuke the filibuster
Then pack the Supreme Court
Then award statehood to DC and Puerto Rico, making it unlikely that Republicans will ever win another election for decades
Let’s nuke it now and just creat an even playing field

Hakeem Jeffries: “In the new Congress, we’re going to have to do something about the Supreme Court. Everything is on the table.”

@joni_askola Yep - nothing like unelected bureaucrats in Brussels ruling over the European
tax sheep.
All they’ve done seems to be making the EU dependent on foreign energy, regulate innovation out of the zone, and enslave their people to WEF 21st century serfdom program. Nightmare.

Europeans said they were tired of being American vassal states because America was causing all their problems, so America said "okay we'll leave, we want Europe to be strong", and then the European bureaucrats said "no wait come back!"

@joni_askola That’s not the goal to rebuild “international trust”. Plus your assumption of US strength is completely wrong wrt current geo-political events. American working famikies are sick of subsidising EU security. Ramp up conscription & increase your defense spending now.

@JewishWarrior13 I’ll make it simple👇🏽.
Here is the message from hardworking US families, trying to make ends meet, sick of subsidising EU’s defense.

A new CNN investigation reveals that Trump and Hegseth have hid from the public how badly U.S. military sites in the Middle East have been damaged by Iran. These new images are disturbing.

🚨 BREAKING: NATO AT A CROSSROADS — “WHY ARE WE IN IT?”
A major shift is now being signalled from Washington.
The United States is openly questioning the value of its long-standing alliance with Europe — raising the prospect of troop withdrawals, reduced commitments, and a full strategic reassessment.
Rubio’s message is direct:
If American forces cannot use allied bases in times of need, then the foundation of the alliance itself must be questioned.
For decades, the arrangement has been clear:
The U.S. provides the bulk of military strength, funding, and deterrence across Europe.
Now that model is being challenged.
Key questions now emerging:
• Has NATO become a one-sided security arrangement?
• Is Europe relying too heavily on American protection?
• What happens if the U.S. begins to step back?
This is not routine political rhetoric.
It signals a potential restructuring of global power dynamics — one that could redefine defence, diplomacy, and security across the Western world.
The post-war alliance system is being tested.
What comes next will determine whether NATO adapts — or begins to fracture.
