@TheNerdyCatLady You did the right thing. Waiting might have meant not finding a room. It's a lot like an approaching hurricane for us. You have to leave early or face the traffic jam, the lack of gas and hotels full up.

I dunno if I did the right thing or should have waited, the cats (& my son & I) are so stressed. We weren't exactly under mandatory or voluntary evacuation, but those were on 3 sides of us & I was scared it would take a long time packing up the cats & all.

@BankerWeimar I would argue that actually not much has changed. Over the last six weeks , ten or twenty ships a day have passed through. Might as well have zero. Leaving the region or sending in ground troops are the only option now.
