We've been hard at work at Vanellus developing our fully differentiable fluid solver, paving the way towards machine-learning accelerated fluid simulations. Have a read of our recent blog post to find out about our validation process! bit.ly/vanellus-valid…

@MichaelNegus I read about the job location, but liked the job description so much that ended up asking if any work from home opportunities are there. 😅

@OxUniMaths So sad to hear this. I always had the utmost respect for Vicky's talent and passion for teaching mathematics. I am lucky to go have gone through some of her teaching training at Oxford, and it's always stuck with me. My condolences to all her friends and family.

It is with huge sadness that we must announce that Vicky Neale, teacher, advocate, inspiration and much loved colleague, passed away yesterday after a long illness. Our condolences to her family, her friends and to all of you who have lost a champion for our wonderful subject.

Ever wanted an interactive lightning-fast solver for models in physics, chemistry, or biology? Do you have a web browser? I'm thrilled to announce VIsualPDE.com, built explicitly to solve PDE models interactively on most devices, written by @bj_w95 @Pecnut and I.

Despite their claims of being "guided by the science", the UK government's response to the pandemic frequently ignored scientific advice. Now that the UK's pandemic inquiry has opened scientists are increasingly being blamed for government mistakes. A 🧵 1/25

DPhil: Submitted! It doesn't feel real to be at this point but I'm so happy I am! Thank you so much to my supervisors James Oliver, @MathsMoore and @rcimpeanu for supporting me to this point, as well as countless others who can't fit into a tweet. Roll on the viva!

Never have I felt so old as when I gave a talk last week including this slide as a bit of fun and received only blank stares from the recently started phd students

I've recently been really struggling with the "finishing" process of my thesis, and this is something a lot of people in academia have with papers too. For those in the same boat, I'd really recommend this video, it's helped me a lot! youtu.be/WlKSBblYGH0 #AcademicTwitter
