The primer placement and long 5'-tail strategy optimized and described in this study by superstar lab member Claire Ryan could easily be adapted to genotype similar single- or multi-nucleotide polymorphisms at other genomic loci. (5/5) authors.elsevier.com/sd/article/S08…

We successfully devised such a strategy by incorporating a long non-specific 5'-tail into one of the two allele specific primers, which allowed for simultaneous identification of both Ptprc alleles using 1.5% agarose gel electrophoresis of endpoint PCR products! (4/5)
