I am sincerely moved by this wonderful remembrance of Pearl. She was a exceptional dog, and I was blessed to spend 7.5 years with an animal that so many came to love, even if only through social media. Thank you @EdibleSB and everyone else who has offered comfort this week.

As we all experience this heat wave, I want to thank our hardworking farm workers who continue to work in the fields in record-breaking heat. I hope our farmers and ag companies are going above and beyond what's required by law and doing *everything* they can to provide hydration and shade in the fields so that workers are protected. Back to harvesting. When we stopped about a month ago most of these #avocados were size 70s, worth about 90 cents/lb. Now they're size 60s at $1.40/lb. A nice change, but not free $. The extra size on this year's crop may be at the expense of sizing on the fruit for 2025.
