The Orthodox Catholic Church does, always has, and always will teach that infants inherit original sin or propatorical sin. Those who deny this are anathema.

@juanrey35939541 @ArgentoGle83147 @AL_J82 When the Edict of Milan (313 AD) officially legalized Christianity, these localized, subterranean devotional practices rapidly stepped into the public sphere. This explosive growth suggests that the theological scaffolding for iconodulia was already deeply embedded in pre-Nicene.

@MichaelS1453 @ArgentoGle83147 @AL_J82 You're sounding delusional. I simply ask for evidence from the first 400 years and you haven't given me any. Because there isn't any. You coping isn't going to change the fact that there isn't any evidence within the first 400 years of icon veneration.

What we've seen taken place the past 7 days within the Orthodox community online is clear example of what happens when you reject Sola Scriptura. Christians, don't put your Bibles down, no matter how much they mock you.

@juanrey35939541 @ArgentoGle83147 @AL_J82 Icon veneration was common practice. So common that Orthodox, Papists, Copts, and all the early Christians practiced the veneration of Icons. Archeology proves this reality. The OT proves this reality. The veneration of the cross, the shroud, the belt of the Virgin Mary, etc.

@juanrey35939541 @ArgentoGle83147 @AL_J82 Icons in church pre-Nicea is definitely proof of veneration. So is the altar, the cherubim and seraphim in the OT, bones raising the dead, collecting the bones of the faithful as precious treasures, finding the cross, the shroud, the belt of the Virgin Mary, all of this is proof

@juanrey35939541 @ArgentoGle83147 @AL_J82 When you say veneration not true because you’re ignorant on the evidence; doesn’t mean it’s not true. That’s an argument from ignorance. Your entire foundation is on shifting sand. Then I provide evidence and you still reject it because of your presuppositions. Sad but true.

@MichaelS1453 @ArgentoGle83147 @AL_J82 When I ask for evidence from the first 400 years and you give me evidence from 7th and 8th century its not a fallacy. You cant give me what I ask because there is no evidence from the first 400 years. Just admit it.

@juanrey35939541 @AL_J82 Archeology not 7th century. Polycarp not 7th century, cross, signets, altars, cups paintings, images angels , orant images, good shepherd icon not 7th century. Just because you don’t like the evidence doesn’t mean it’s not legit. Your entire argument from ignorance is a fallacy.

@MichaelS1453 @AL_J82 7th century! Thats all you got 7th and 8th century evidence. I want early church. First 400 years. Admit there is not evidence by that time frame and then I'll answer your question.

@juanrey35939541 @AL_J82 Is definitely further proof of veneration: also veneration of the cross, signets, altars, cups paintings, images angels , orant images, good shepherd icon, and the lists go on proving veneration is good and necessary to be a Christian. Go read the 7th EC. Now answer my question.

@MichaelS1453 @AL_J82 I read the martyrdom of Polycarp. Your quote and the rest of the text has no proof of veneration. In burials you respect the dead. Everyone does this. That is no proof of venerating icons

@juanrey35939541 @AL_J82 All the forms of veneration: “veneration towards an object: bowing before it, kissing it, praying through it, kneeling towards it, lighting candles in front of it, elevating or exaltating it, and processing with it.”

@MichaelS1453 @AL_J82 I said first 400 years. You gave me stuff from the 8th century. Archeology of icons near tombs is no evidence that Christians venerated icons ike ppl putting flowers near tombs is no evidence that they venerated flowers. Admit it. there is no evidence in the 1st 400 years.

@juanrey35939541 @AL_J82 Veneration (known in Christian theology as dulia) is the act of honoring a holy person, an angel, or a sacred object. It is distinct from latria, which is the sacrificial worship and adoration reserved strictly for God.
