no, they can't just arrest you inside the embassy. under the 1961 Vienna Convention on Diplomatic Relations (Article 22), the embassy premises are “inviolable” the host country police can't enter without the ambassador's permission. so you'd be physically safe for as long as you stay inside.

It's a cheaper and much worse option than dry curing and it's what leads to the 'white scum' you'll see when cooking bacon. Was widely introduced in UK late 90's/early 2000's.
