Fifty Years Ago Today...
John Dye was named Man of the Match as @NorthantsCCC demolished @Middlesex_CCC by 7 wickets in the B&H Cup at Lord's. Dye and Sarfraz Nawaz reduced the hosts to 17-5 and a victory target of 98 posed no problem with Geoff Cook (42) leading the way.
@dafwill92@GCAFCofficial Irrespective of last night's result these players and management have shown incredible dedication this season. That's enough for me, just one more big effort please.
Woke up feeling immensely proud of the shift everyone put in last night, players, staff, supporters, volunteers ❤️
That’s why I love this club! @GCAFCofficial
Only half the job done. We go again. See you Monday 💪🏼👊🏼
@DAFTrucksUK can you help? Our manager @dafwill92 has got our club @GCAFCofficial into the play-offs. Do you have a spare DAF flag you could send me for the play-offs? Happy to make a donation to your company’s preferred charity.
Full Time: Needham Market 0-2 Banbury United. The Marketmen fall short at the final hurdle and heartbreakingly miss out on the play-offs on goal difference, and with that our 2025/26 season comes to a close. Rest up and we go again next season! ❤️
@oldmanradd@NorthantsCCC 60 years on and I'm still annoyed at not winning the championship that season, I thought 'ah well we'll do it next year.' Still waiting!
Brian Crump - 'The Atomic Pill' - is 88 years old today. His tally of 894 wickets for @NorthantsCCC across all formats makes him the County's leading living wicket-taker, with 9,000+ runs for good measure. Should have been a Championship winner in 1965. Happy birthday, Brian!
@Stuart_Watson When you've done the double over the champions AND stopped them scoring, it highlights the inconsistency in this team and its management who are capable of an even better season.
Kieran McKenna not displeased with this afternoon's 0-0 draw at fired up, in form West Brom.
Says it sets up a final week that 'we all would have taken'.

Any City fans that still follow me or who will respond; who did you vote for as player of the season? I voted for Jared Thompson because we've not had a consistent goalkeeper for a while and he's done well this season. I think we're lucky to have him.
@doughboys_wtfc@TheNomadsFc It's been a largely successful season for the DB's, thanks to everyone at the club, they deserve their place in a tough league.
Defeat on the final day.
The lads gave a great account of themselves against a good Nomads side on the final day of the season, but our opponents edge us out in the second half.
Congratulations to @TheNomadsFc on their league title and best of luck at step 3!
Our league campaign concludes, but we still have a cup final to look forward to on the 5th of May.
Your support, as always, is appreciated!
#TheDoughboys💙💛
@HardwickeAFC@TigerSportPhot1 Congratulations to everyone at 'Wicke. Great to hear news of some success after a few seasons without. Onwards and upwards up the 'wicke.
Wishing @NorthantsCCC and @englandcricket fast bowler David Larter #271 a very happy 86th birthday. Claimed 511 first-class wickets for the County in 134 matches between 1960 and 1969, toured Australia twice with MCC and played ten Tests for England.
Just the man you want to make the difference at the final stage of the season! Good luck in your recovery Elis and hope to see you back in 26/27! @TheVOTTE
Great stuff from James Sales today - highest innings by a Northamptonshire-born player for @NorthantsCCC in the Championship since Mal Loye also hit 164 versus Surrey in 2010. Last exceeded 24 years ago by Graeme Swann with 183 against Gloucestershire in 2002.
@welshroots And never in my lifetime has a prime minister treated his Country folk so cruelly. He deserves everything that is thrown at him......and more.
We are on the edge of a World War and Right Wing Media go after Keir Starmer incessantly with Barage of Criticism
Give the Bloke a break for a couple of days
Never in my lifetime have I ever seen a Primeminster treated so badly
If I was him I would tell the bloody lot of us to SOD OFF
