Cornhusker courage. 💪 The story of 2025 Nebraska Hero, Ashley De La Cruz-Martin.

This past July, Ashley De La Cruz-Martin, a 16-year-old from Columbus, NE, was on her way into the Pawnee Plunge Water Park when she witnessed a man collapse in the parking lot. Drawing on her recent CPR training, Ashley immediately recognized the life-threatening situation and began administering CPR until paramedics arrived. Her quick thinking and decisive action saved his life. Today, we are proud to announce Ashley as the 2025 Nebraska Hero who will be recognized Friday during @HuskerFootball's matchup with Iowa for the annual @PioneerSeeds Heroes Game.

The wait is over. @DiscoverersGolf Molly Goc’s +5, 149, holds up for the Class A state champion. She’s the first Columbus girls golfer to win in 50 years.
