💥🇵🇱🇭🇺 SCOOP: On March 23, after celebrating Polish-Hungarian friendship day in Przemyśl with Hungarian president Tamás Sulyok, Polish president Karol Nawrocki is planning a quick trip in the afternoon to Budapest to meet and endorse Viktor Orbán in his election campaign. This would be an official visit, also aimed at mending ties after Nawrocki canceled his planned December 4 trip due to Orbán's prior meeting with Vladimir Putin. However, the timing is again quite bad for Nawrocki: March 23 also happens to be the "Grand Assembly" of the Patriots for Europe far-right alliance in Budapest, with well-known pro-Kremlin politicians such as Matteo Salvini and Marine Le Pen participating. Nawrocki's visit would also come amid a string of reports on Russian intelligence meddling in Hungary's election campaign to keep Viktor Orbán in power. These are current plans, according to my sources — but as last time, the political risk for the new standard-bearer of the Polish political right of being associated with pro-Kremlin politicians may ultimately prove too high. I see you're "excellent" in Polish politics.
Let me remind you of a few facts about our president and the "pro-Russian" circles he surrounds himself with.
1. President Nawrocki is wanted by Putin for removing communist monuments in Poland.
2. The late Lech Kaczyński, who warned Europe and the world about Russia at a time when everyone was focused on the reset with Putin, hails from this "pro-Russian" circle. He flew to Georgia, which was attacked by Russia, and uttered the famous words: "Today Georgia, tomorrow Ukraine, then the Baltic states, and then maybe it's time for my country, Poland."
3. It was this president who was assassinated on April 10, 2010, in retaliation for these words. and his twin brother is now considered a "pro-Russian" group by those responsible for the reset with Russia, which fueled admiration for Putin's democracy when he officially announced his plans for aggression in European circles.
4. President Nawrocki's circle is described as "pro-Russian" by those who worked to improve relations with Russia, as Tusk stated: "We want dialogue with Russia as it is."
