STATEMENT. The Water Engineer of Mbale District, Eng. Wandera Simon Peter, is currently detained at CPS Mbale. This follows his arrest in connection with GEF: 09/2026 over alleged mismanagement of the Buyobo - Bubyangu Gravity Flow Scheme in Mbale District. The project was funded to the tune of UGX 2.2 Billion by His Excellency the President of the Republic of Uganda, with the objective of providing clean and free piped water from the Elgon Mountains to rural communities in the area. It is regrettable that all connected public taps are dry, despite the massive investment intended to serve the people. All contractors are hereby put on notice to desist from substandard work. @kirya_ug Ugandans need to keep the pressure going on those thieves, the government need to auction their assets, pay interest on stolen funds and be imprisoned. Ugandan are tired of a country that looks like a latrine.

@KagutaMuseveni Unless Africans start to love their continent, progress is still far from reach. Corruption, external influence, impunity and lack of accountability, these factors and many more hinder progress.

Yesterday at State House Entebbe, I delivered a Lecture of Opportunity to student officers from the War College of Mali. I emphasised that Africa’s prosperity lies in production, value addition and expanding our markets through economic integration. I also stressed that the continent must build the capacity to defend its interests on land, in the air, at sea and in space, while remaining committed to Pan-Africanism, patriotism and African solutions to African problems.

@BalaamBarugahar Corruption in the government has to be stopped at all costs. Balaam has set an example and also other ministers should take their jobs seriously!

Happening now in Namisindwa Expose the Corrupt rally . After inspecting over 20 facilities to day. The population wants improved services delivery and agree to President Museveni’s no corruption agenda !

To some brothers of mine who are not bothered by what is going on in our local governments and cities, this is a “pit latrine” with out a pit that cost taxpayers UGX 73 million. Is this the Uganda we want? This is unacceptable. My brother Simon and others on x , this is exactly why the #ExposeTheCorrupt campaign must continue. No one will stop this train. There are still a few hours and days left for repentance. When you steal public funds, you will be exposed publicly. If you hate humiliation, don’t tamper with or misuse public resources. Every shilling belongs to the people and must be used for its intended purpose. Let us improve our public infrastructure, strengthen service delivery, and restore accountability in local government. I sincerely thank the DISOs of Mbale and Bulambuli, the CID officers, the State House Anti-Corruption Unit, the DPC Mbale, RPC Twalla, the DPC Bulambuli, the outgoing Deputy RDC of Bulambuli, the RDC of Mbale District, and all patriotic Ugandans led by our General Secretary, Hon. Twalla Fadhil, together with all the Area Members of Parliament for Mbale and Bulambuli, who have supported the #ExposeTheCorrupt campaign so far. I also appeal to all staff in the Office of the President, ISO, Crime Intelligence officers, RDCs, and every patriotic Ugandan to join and support the #ExposeTheCorrupt movement. Together, let us protect taxpayers’ money, improve public infrastructure, and deliver the quality services our people deserve.

Local Government Ministers Balaam Barugahara and Justine Nameere have called for the arrest of a road contractor, the town engineer, the town clerk, and the internal auditor in Bulambuli after they allegedly received UGX 500 million to construct a bridge but only poured soil at the site.

@KagutaMuseveni I remember “wembule” I was just a young man probably 20-23 years still at school and running my small businesses. Those “wembule” people arrested me for nothing and took me to mbuya barracks started beating me. Just because they wanted to steal from me. Impunity is real in Ug!

@KagutaMuseveni It’s great news that investors are willing to invest in Uganda, however, much progress had been hindered by fellow Ugandans especially public officials who are stinking corrupt!

I met Rt Hon Baroness Chapman, the United Kingdom’s Minister of State for International Development and Africa, today at State House Entebbe. We discussed investment and ways to strengthen the partnership between Uganda and the United Kingdom. I also called upon British and European investors to take a keen interest in investing in Africa, as the continent has enormous potential for economic growth, trade, and prosperity. I welcome her.
