19η Απριλίου - Ημέρα Φιλελληνισμού και Διεθνούς Αλληλεγγύης καθιερώθηκε από την 🇬🇷Ελληνική Δημοκρατία στην επέτειο του θανάτου του Λόρδου Βύρωνα, μεγάλου ποιητή, αγωνιστή για την ελευθερία και Φιλέλληνα, ο οποίος ενέπνευσε ολόκληρο τον κόσμο! 19 April - Day of Philhellenism and International Solidarity - designated by the 🇬🇷Hellenic Republic on the anniversary of the death of Lord Byron, great poet, freedom fighter and Philhellen who inspired the entire world!

🇪🇺🇸🇰16/04/2003: 23 years ago, in 🇬🇷Athens, under the Acropolis, during the 2003 Hellenic Presidency of the EU Council, Slovakia and other 9 new as well as 15 EU Member States at that time signed the Accession Treaty to the European Union. It was the biggest ever enlargement of the EU and has brought to the people in the new Member States as well as entire unprecedented prosperity and excellent future. I had an immense honour to be there personally and to prepare the official signing ceremony as Deputy Head of the Slovak Embassy in Athens. And it is great to be in Athens again today, exactly on the 23 anniversary!

Pred 22 rokmi sa Slovensko stalo členom NATO, najväčšej a najsilnejšej obrannej aliancie slobodných národov, brániacej aj našu existenciu, slobodu, demokraciu a prosperitu. #MySmeNATO 22 years of Slovakia’s membership in NATO, the bigest and strongest defense alliance of free nations, defending our existence, freedom, democracy and prosperity.

Pred 4 rokmi Rusko rozpútalo ničím nevyprovokovanú, totálnu vojnu proti 🇺🇦Ukrajine. Už 1461 dní Ukrajinci čelia barbarskej agresii, civilné obyvateľstvo je obeťou vojnových zločinov a nepredstaviteľných útrap, mrazivej zimy a nedostatku elektriny. No sú neuveriteľne statoční a bránia seba aj nás, 🇸🇰Slovensko, celú 🇪🇺Európu a civilizovaný svet, a vďaka nim sa tieto hrôzy zatiaľ nedostali aj ku nám. Musíme Ukrajinu a jej statočných občanov plne a neochvejne podporovať. 🇺🇦Слава Україні!

🇸🇰Vychvaľovať Mečiara je politická lož. Kvôli vláde Mečiara bolo Slovensko vylúčené z cesty do 🇪🇺EÚ a NATO, naši susedia nás predbiehali vo všetkom. Slovensko bolo čiernou dierou, nemalo na nič vplyv a nedávalo 🇸🇰občanom nádej na lepšiu budúcnosť. Ekonomika sa zhoršovala, Mečiarovi ľudia rozkradli náš spoločný majetok, sloboda bola obmedzovaná. Keby Mečiar zostal pri moci, nestali by sme sa členom 🇪🇺EÚ, popletali by sme sa dodnes na pomedzí Balkánu, a naši susedia by do nás kopali. Vstup do EÚ a NATO bol najväčším posilnením suverenity Slovenska a priniesol občanom lepší život. Európa už buduje svoje obranné kapacity, a Slovensko sa musí k tejto spoločnej 🇪🇺obrane bezvýhradne pridať! Doba Mečiara nemôže byť pre nás dnes žiadnou inšpiráciou.

Today is International Day of Democracy. (🇺🇳United Nations General Assembly resolution of 2007). Born in Athens, Greece, thousands of years ago, it is the best way of governing the society & ensuring that people are equal in their rights. We need to protect it, for us and for the future generations! Dnes je Medzinárodný deň demokracie (ustanovený rezolúciou Valného zhromaždenia 🇺🇳OSN v roku 2007). Vznikla v Aténach v Grécku pred tisícmi rokov, je najlepším spôsobom riadenia spoločnosti a zaručuje, že ľudia sú si rovní vo svojich právach. Musíme ju chrániť pre nás a pre budúce generácie!
