@beyang @cursor_ai @AmpCode I probably should try @AmpCode for my personal experiment.. I have found my sweet spot with Gemini Pro (when compared to Sonnet) in Cursor. I am speculating their orchestrator/the system that 1) plans 2) generates prompts 3) calls tools & models likely regressed here.

Is it just me or Gemini on @cursor_ai is riddled with issues 1. Constant "edit_file" failures, and asks to copy paste 2. Blames the output of the model 3. Fails after 3 tries This is evident on both `gemini-2.5-pro` and gemini-2.5-pro-preview-06-05

Generated image embeddings, extracted image features and built a algorithm (really, a decision tree) to generate a "photo group" score that allows for image clustering. This was a fun little experiment.

@GergelyOrosz Market rates for Tier 1 companies, especially in SFO, SEA, NYC haven’t really changed. Bands for the early, mid SWEs are much tighter, but there are enough examples of companies willing to go “out of band” for v strong candidates (more of this obviously for senior candidates)

Interesting: a software engineer exploring roles talked about the same role w a recruiter at the same scaleup in 2022 and now; in 2024. The total compensation package is now ~30% lower in 2024 than in 2022 (much lower equity.) Anyone else seeing similar changes? This was LA.

Responses to Kelsey’s 🧵 are amusing. How is this even controversial? Speaking at an conference is “work” and time commit is non-trivial (from prep to travel to delivery and follow up) You may volunteer to do it pro bono, but that is your choice.
