Good evening @GoogleAds May I ask please, why, when I've blocked an advert at least 10 x are you intent on my watching it? You can't, surely, begin to think that's good communication of which you are supposed to be King. Prey, do tell the reason?
English

@afneil Perhaps it's time to bring back the King since it's clearly beyond the realms of any politician to successfully run the country. Politicians seem to have the mistaken belief that governing is a popularity contest available to feed their inflated egos.
English

British Government in a shambles tonight. Nobody quite clear who’s in charge. Who would have thought Labour would be been even more useless than the Tories? Starmer living on borrowed time. Support ebbing away. But to what? Nobody knows. The world has rarely been more dangerous in modern times and we barely have a government.
English

@afneil This can't be real - it must be satire, surely.
English

“Smell the alcohol”?! Wow. I wonder what she thinks it will be like when she and the Greens get their way and legalise heroin? Also, she says that, unlike MPs, she doesn’t think bankers would have a drink then go back to work. What planet is she on?

"You can smell the alcohol when people are in between votes." Green MP Hannah Spencer tells us what Westminster is REALLY like. The full interview is live on YouTube, and as a podcast here: linktr.ee/howtorebuildbr…
English

@DeborahMeaden '...focusing on the important stuff,' you say. I think you will find that identifying a breach of security protocol is pretty much up there when it comes to 'important stuff.'
English

Right… important to get to the bottom of this, important to keep all Politicians honest just need to check the line between witch hunting and scrutiny…. I really want my Govt focusing on the important stuff that makes the UK a better place to live, work and be proud of…
Sophy Ridge@SophyRidgeSky
Key line of Sir Olly Robbins letter to Ctte: "When the PM informed the house that the proper process had been followed in respect of National Security Vetting, he was correct" In other words: He followed process & didn't do anything wrong. PM knows that too.
English

@DeborahMeaden It is a very warped perspective on humanity to begrudge the elderly a pension.
English

@LBC @Tobias_Ellwood Well, with the £2 million PER DAY the gov are currently receiving from fuel duty after the recent price increases at the petrol pumps - they are in fine fettle to create a stronger force if you think we need it.
English

- 'US may back away from NATO'
- 'China is filling the void where America leaves a vacuum'
- 'UK will be vulnerable to Russia'
'We are woefully unprepared', @Tobias_Ellwood warns.
English

@Mike_Fabricant Really, only the EU can use the name Marmalade? Well it didn't stop Paddington Bear using that name and he came all the way from Peru.
English

@DeborahMeaden It's not for the first time though. Parliament passed a law in 1644 to cancel Christmas which remained in place until 1660.
English

Lidl is a phenomenon, and loved by shoppers who have access to its stores.
So why is it still only the 6th biggest supermarket? Harry Wallop on how the free market isn't quite working as advertised...

@KirstieMAllsopp @MayorofLondon People have to take responsibility for their own rubbish and take pride in their surroundings. Can't keep relying on the council. Maybe a resurgence of the 1970s campaign 'Keep Britain Tidy.'
English

I Love London, and I hate to see the city being maligned by those who should know better BUT the litter crisis is undeniable, does @MayorofLondon have someone whose job it is to focus on litter, or does he regard it as an issue for the different local authorities in the capital?
English

@FraserNelson Bless. She must be referring to her own 5% pay rise which MPs receive from next month because I am pretty sure no one else's wages are on the rise. #RachelReeves #springstatement
English

Today Rachel Reeves said that inflation is falling, wages are rising and her plan is working.
The OBR's report? Living standards will barely move by the end of the decade. And that's before the energy price shock.
My take on the Spring Statement: thetimes.com/uk/politics/ar…
English

@SimonCalder I don't mind paying - but as with Venice - it is now starting to feel like a theme park as opposed to a city.
English

"Cash for access" to tourist locations in public areas.
In a week when the city of Rome brought in a €2 fee to visit the Trevi Fountain in the heart of the capital, how do you feel about paying for access?
And will the fee succeed in tackling overtourism?

English

@manly_mentor Of course it's a, '9-5 job' how else is one supposed to pay the mortgage/rent, food and bills.
English

@DeborahMeaden @benonwine If the economy is doing so well, why is the ordinary person in the street not seeing any benefit of that? Instead, every week, for I don't know how long, food prices have risen exponentially not to mention utilities.
English

@benonwine Well he’s not doing a very good job of destroying it… economy doing better than expected
English

@bushontheradio No starter. Straight to the main attraction.
