Over-Promoted and Over-Protected by the Establishment On 20 December 2023, I posted the following: “You’ve probably never heard of him, but Sir Chris Wormald is the man directly responsible for wasting £10 billion of public money on PPE. As Permanent Secretary at the Department of Health and Social Care during COVID, he bought five years’ worth of PPE when only four months’ supply was needed. Much of it had a shelf life of just two years, meaning billions of pounds’ worth of stock expired and was destroyed. He is now Head of the Cabinet Office a man over-promoted to a level far beyond his capabilities. He should have been sacked for his performance at the DHSC. Instead, he was promoted to the top job in the civil service! He has very serious questions to answer about how such staggering waste and deception of public money were allowed to happen, but he has always been protected. He used myself and my husband as scapegoats turning me into the ‘poster Blonde Baroness’ to cover up his own sheer incompetence. His performance at the COVID Inquiry shone a light on his failings and the shocking waste of public money. At the time, I was attacked for speaking the truth. But as today’s headlines show, Keir Starmer is now reportedly on the verge of sacking Chris Wormald. The sad reality is, they’re all as bad as each other protecting one another, shifting blame, and refusing to take any responsibility or accountability for these failings. The public deserves honesty, not excuses. Already knighted what’s next for him? A place in the House of Lords?

Thank you so much for all your kind birthday wishes. I genuinely mean that. I was truly taken aback by the thousands of positive, caring messages I received across my social media platforms. Each one meant more than you’ll ever know.  Most days, I wake up and struggle to find the strength to face yet another round of government-led (“spin doctor”) lies being printed by elements of the UK press. I don’t blame journalists for doing their jobs, but I do ask that they please start getting their facts right and add some balance to their articles.  Yesterday I had a lovely birthday with my husband and our three gorgeous cocker spaniels, Rocky, Rusty, and Rory. Doug even convinced me to get dressed up, as he was taking me out for dinner. So, I got glammed up, put a smile on my face and had a fantastic night out.  I woke up this morning filled with gratitude, renewed strength, and a fierce determination to keep fighting for the truth to come to light. Today’s judgment against PPE Medpro is shocking but all too predictable. It is nothing less than an Establishment win for the Government in a case that was too big for them to lose. According to the judgment, PPE Medpro won its original pleaded case, having spent 4.5 years and £4.4 million defending it. However, on the opening day of trial, the Government pivoted to an entirely new argument, one that had never been pleaded beforehand. They claimed there was a lack of original “source documentation” around sterilisation, even though seven fully accredited sterilisation plants supplied gowns to other Governments and suppliers worldwide throughout the pandemic, without an issue. This quantum leap of faith on the part of the judge gave the government an overall win.  To use a simple analogy,  if a car looks, feels, and drives like, say, a Range Rover, then unless you can show how the car is assembled by the manufacturer, it’s not a Range Rover! Worse, we have learned that the National Crime Agency (NCA) actively tried to block PPE Medpro from being discussed in the Inquiry altogether, pushing for complete secrecy and extreme reporting restrictions. This is a deliberate and calculated effort to keep us, and the British public, in the dark. While the Inquiry refused to exclude PPE Medpro, it handed the NCA the power to dictate the proceedings behind a wall of secrecy, ensuring that only their version of events is heard—while we are denied the right to defend ourselves.   For nearly four years, the NCA has waged a ruthless campaign to destroy us, dragging out an investigation with no merit, no justification, and no end in sight. The toll on our lives, our families, and our reputations has been devastating.   This corruption must end.   The NCA, in direct collusion with the DHSC, has twisted its immense powers; not to serve justice, but to shield the real culprits: the ministers and officials who botched the pandemic response, wasted billions in taxpayer money, and are now trying to cover their tracks by engineering a scandal against us.   Let’s be clear: PPE Medpro delivered precisely what was asked—hundreds of millions of life-saving PPE items at below-market prices. PPE Medpro fulfilled all its contracts to specification and delivered on time.  They did their job. PPE Medpro took no upfront deposits from the UK government, exposing the company to tens of millions of pounds of risk.   Yet, instead of exposing the actual failures of the pandemic, the authorities have orchestrated a baseless smear campaign to destroy us.   A public inquiry should be about truth. Instead, this process is rigged—held in secret, controlled by those who fear the truth, with a predetermined outcome.   As soon as we learned of this outrageous ruling, we immediately applied for Core Participant status—only to be denied twice, proving once again that this process is nothing more than a sham designed to protect the guilty. This is not justice. This is a political vendetta driven by corruption, cowardice, and deception.  The real scandal is not PPE Medpro. It is: The British government’s catastrophic failure in handling the pandemic. The NCA’s abuse of power is driven by political agendas, not justice. The deliberate destruction of innocent lives to shield those truly responsible. We will not be silenced. We will not stop fighting.
