Shawn and I are devastated by the assassination of Charlie Kirk. We are praying for Charlie's wife and children and extend our deepest condolences to his family and friends. As President Donald J. Trump said, Charlie was a "Great" and "Legendary" figure in the conservative movement. He inspired an entire generation of conservative young people to stand up for our American values. Charlie directly challenged the dangerous ideologies that are being spread on college campuses, and he did it through non-violence. Charlie had a unique ability to communicate with young people and motivate activists. I saw that firsthand when he graciously spoke to our campaign volunteers. This assassination is a wakeup call to the country. It follows the assassination attempts on Republican House Majority Leader Steve Scalise and two assassination attempts on President Trump.
