Since my first appearance on @colbertlateshow in 2016, I’ve been one of @colbert’s most frequent guests, appearing ten times, if you include the getting arrested one (someday they’ll release the footage). Here are a few favorite moments of me pooping it up for my beloved Stephen.

People might not remember it, but @StephenAtHome first emerged doing a terrific show that was the one place on national TV that allowed non-corporate viewpoints. I had the chance to twice be on that show to talk about corruption & the economic chaos that was coming. With Colbert being kicked off the air tonight, I went back and watched those clips. I feel both sad for how much of a broken record I've ended up sounding like over the last 20 years, and also in awe of what a talent Colbert is. Watch this clip to see him berate me as Che Guevara, then watch him ask whether in the future he will still get to keep his TV show. It's eerily prescient.

I'm going to do the break character thing which I don't do too often. Way back in 1994 I think Stephen Colbert was one of my instructors at the Second City Training Center in Chicago. I had him for 8 weeks of classes with a dozen other aspiring improvisers and he was a genuinely funny and nice guy. He was a new dad so unlike other instructors like Steve Carell, he didn't go out with us afterwards too much, but one time he and I had a 90 minute conversation about all things Dungeons and Dragons and Gen Con which I think confused the other improvisers. The guy was as big a nerd as me. This is not the end for him. There isn't much that he can't do.

More than 140 officers were injured defending the Capitol on January 6th. They waited six years for the plaque in their honor to be hung in the Capitol. They watched as Donald Trump pardoned every single one of their assailants. Some of them can no longer work and cannot even get disability benefits. But Donald Trump has set aside nearly $2 BILLION of your taxpayer money to pay the criminals who assaulted them. It’s a punch in the face to every police officer in this country who puts his or her life on the line to protect us. I support Officers Daniel Hodges and Harry Dunn in their lawsuit to stop this outrageous scheme.

I’d like to see where the money went and how much people in the Trump administration got paid in kickbacks. On just 5 warehouses our government overpaid by 348 million dollars. Kristi Noem should be in prison and we should stop sending taxes to the federal government. They can no longer be trusted with our money.

Officer Fanone on Jan 6, after being tased 3 times in the neck by Trump terrorists, beaten with his gun and dragged unconscious down the stairs. He had a heart attack.
