@RealBookerScott @Thevictoria76 Good points overall. The Fairness in Beoadcasting Act was anything but fair. Hardened leftists had already infiltrated major media companies. Conservative Talk radio today exists in large part due to the repeal of that policy. Fairness is often in name only

Smith-Mundt Modernization Act only deals with government agencies controlled by the government, it does nothing about private companies. It was also done away with in Congress with huge GOP support. The real damage was done when the FCC did away with the Fairness in Broadcasting in the 80's. Fairness Act was legislated and passed in both chambers after the FCC did away with it and it had overwhelming GOP support, but Reagan vetoed it. Again, they tried to pass it and make it veto proof, but they didn't get enough votes. The other legislation that killed American media was under Clinton and the Telecommunications Act. That allowed the consolidation of TV and radio stations, meaning companies coukd own more than one of each in a market. From that came a mockingbird media because there were only a few companies that owned all radio and TV stations. Smith-Mundt Modernization repeal would do nothing.

@Emilio2763 He has ALWAYS been a brutally awful umpire. Baseball will never remove him from the game. DEI existed in the MLB long before the summer of love. Buckner and Hernandez are living proof. Buckner is at least a nice guy, but sucks at judging calls. Disqualifying flaw for an ump

@m_phlips @EricaRN4USA @end3of6days9 To me it boils down to teaching them the difference between being an adult and a child. You are not allowed to speak that way in my house. Period. Self-control needs to be taught. Guarantee this kids talks like this in school

Ayaan Hirsi Ali - let’s talk a bit about her. She is one of the most courageous voices of our time. She was born in 1969 in Mogadishu, Somalia, into a strict Muslim family. As a young girl, she was subjected to female genital mutilation. She grew up between Saudi Arabia, Ethiopia, and Kenya under a strict Islamic upbringing. In 1992, she fled to the Netherlands to escape an arranged marriage - she jumped off a train in Europe and applied for asylum. There, she learned Dutch, earned a degree in political science, and began working with integration. She lost her faith in Islam. She became an atheist, and later converted to Christianity in 2023. She saw clearly how Islam oppresses women - forced marriages, honor killings, female genital mutilation, polygamy, and the total lack of freedom. In 2004, she made the short film Submission together with Theo van Gogh. The film showed violence against women in Islam. Shortly after, Theo van Gogh was murdered in broad daylight in Amsterdam by a radical Muslim. A threat against Ayaan was left pinned to his chest: she was next. She received death threats for years. She had to live under police protection. She was elected to the Dutch parliament for the Liberal Party, where she fought for Muslim women’s rights and against the illusions of multiculturalism. She has written books such as Infidel, Nomad, and Heretic, where she directly criticizes the core of Islam - not just “extremism,” but the ideology itself. Today, she lives in the United States, married to historian Niall Ferguson, and continues her work, among other things through her foundation (AHA Foundation). She warns the West about mass immigration from Muslim countries, parallel societies, and the self-deception that claims Islam can be reformed without confronting its texts and history. Like Salman Rushdie, Ayaan Hirsi Ali has paid a high price for speaking the truth. Rushdie was hunted for a book. She was hunted for showing the reality of her own life and the lives of millions of Muslim women. She is not “Islamophobic.” She is a former Muslim who has seen the system from the inside and refuses to stay silent. She points to the uncomfortable truth: that Western values such as freedom of speech, gender equality, and individual liberty are incompatible with classical sharia Islam. Ayaan Hirsi Ali is a living example of why the Enlightenment is still worth defending. She risked her life to say what most people don’t dare: that the problem is not only “extremists,” but a religion that, at its core, oppresses women and rejects criticism. She deserves respect from all of us - not because she is “controversial,” but because she refuses to lie in order to be politically correct. In a time where many bow to threats, she continues to speak the truth. These are the kind of people who keep the soul of the West alive. Thank you Ayaan.❤️‍🔥🪽✝️

I've been holding back on this, but I'm just gonna let loose... So many of these "protestors" here in Asheville NC have had their lives DRAMATICALLY improved by President Trump. Trump's FEMA resolved 80% of ALL open Hurricane Helene cases Biden left sitting 116 days... in 5 DAYS. Trump's DOT gave nearly $2 BILLION to fix roads and bridges in WNC, which is the largest Emergency Relief allocation in federal highway history. Trump's DOT reopened I-40 in 5 months. Everyone said it would take years. Trump's HUD approved $1.4 billion for Helene housing recovery so fast that even Democrat Governor Josh Stein publicly thanked him for it. Trump's USDA delivered $221 million directly to WNC farmers who lost everything. Trump gave NC 6 full months of 100% federal cost coverage — one of the longest in FEMA history. The same people driving on rebuilt roads, drinking clean water, living the comeback... are out here protesting the man who made most of it happen. JUST GIVE CREDIT WHERE CREDIT IS DUE!!! It's not that hard. He knew you hated him before the storm. He knew that when he landed in Asheville. And guess what? HE SHOWED UP AND HELPED YOU ANYWAYS!!!!!! And today you grabbed your little sign and costumes, got in your little Subaru, you drove on those rebuilt roads, over those rebuilt bridges, passed rebuilt houses and rebuilt parks, to protest a man who helped your city. You look stupid, out of touch, and insanely ungrateful.

@dom_lucre I grew up in a city hood. She’s got the ghetto vibe down pretty accurate. What’s sad to me is that white culture has been so castigated, I can’t tell if this is satire or a white girl desperate for cultural identity
