@CalumDouglas1 Dimple the block around the fitting to increase surface area to reduce heat buildup/thermal expansion of the hole, and alter the resonance of the engine. If possible throughdrill the hole (with smaller bit) to further reduce thermal expansion.

Engine Design Quiz 2: This M5x22mm bolt which as 12.9 grade (see red arrow), keeps coming undone. It holds on the main oil pressure inlet pipe and the engine will blow up if it comes loose. You have hypothetically one day until the next race and it cant happen again. Given the list of constraints below, suggest a solution and if possible, why it will work. 1) You cannot change the grey coloured flange being clamped to the engine block 2) You cannot change the bolt material or thread diameter 3) You cannot put in a stud 4) You cannot use any mechanical or chemical locking systems 5) A material-off modification to the engine block (orange) is allowed 6) The bolt is already torqued to the maximum possible load. 7) The position of the mating face between the oil flange (grey) and engine block (orange) cannot move 8) You cannot put a helicoil or other thread insert into the block.
