Our best system is the T45 Destroyer with the Astor/Viper. But it’s primarily a fleet protection asset. The fact is that we and Europe depend heavily on US detection, US interceptor missiles and platforms, and US command architecture. The harsh reality is that capabilities amongst European states, incl. the UK, are very limited and patchy indeed.

It’s 4:40am and the regime in Iran has launched yet another missile with cluster bombs toward central Israel, forcing thousands of families to run to shelters in the middle of the night. They’re not targeting military assets, they are deliberately attacking vulnerable civilians.

Just spoke to @POTUS about our European allies’ unwillingness to provide assets to keep the Strait of Hormuz functioning, which benefits Europe far more than America. I have never heard him so angry in my life. I share that anger given what’s at stake. The arrogance of our allies to suggest that Iran with a nuclear weapon is of little concern and that military action to stop the ayatollah from acquiring a nuclear bomb is our problem not theirs is beyond offensive. The European approach to containing the ayatollah’s nuclear ambitions have proven to be a miserable failure. The repercussions of providing little assistance to keep the Strait of Hormuz functioning are going to be wide and deep for Europe and America. I consider myself very forward-leaning on supporting alliances, however at a time of real testing like this, it makes me second guess the value of these alliances. I am certain I am not the only senator who feels this way.

Jonathan Liew doesn't see or understand any of the criticism. He is PROUD of his disgraceful words in the Guardian. Liew actually thinks he is fighting the "war at home". Over on BlueSky, where Liew posts publicly, unlike here where his Tweets are protected, he has PINNED the calls for "a smashed window here, a provocative sticker there". 🤮 The Guardian has lost its way. For many years now it has been Der Sturmer of the modern age. It is beyond understanding how any Jews can work at this newspaper. The obsession with Israel at The Guardian is beyond what is reasonable. They treat Israel unlike any other country. It is a sickness. Jonathan Liew is arguably only pipped for his racism against the only Jewish state by Nesrine Malik at the Guardian. For Malik, Hamas don't exist. Nor do Hezbollah and nor do Iran.
