Bernard Hill was left out of the In Memoriam segment at the Academy Awards this year just like last year.
It’s unacceptable. Ignoring an actor like Bernard Hill, whose work shaped films such as Titanic and The Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King, shows how detached this ceremony has become from real cinematic legacy. If the Oscars can’t honor legends, what value do they even have anymore?

Louis Leo “Lou” Holtz, legendary college football coach, Hall of Famer, bestselling author, and one of America’s most influential motivational voices, has passed away at the age of 89 in Orlando, Florida, surrounded by family. Born January 6, 1937, in Follansbee, West Virginia, Holtz rose from humble beginnings to become one of the most respected figures in college athletics. Over a remarkable five‑decade career, he led college programs at William & Mary, NC State, Arkansas, Minnesota, Notre Dame, and South Carolina. He transformed every team he inherited and captured the 1988 National Championship with the Fighting Irish. Holtz was preceded in death by his beloved wife of more than 50 years, Beth, with whom he shared a life grounded in faith, devotion, and service.
Holtz is remembered for his enduring values of faith, family, service, and an unwavering belief in the potential of others. His influence extended far beyond the football field through the Holtz Charitable Foundation and the many players, colleagues, and communities shaped by his leadership. He is survived by his four children, nine grandchildren, and two great‑grandchildren. Funeral arrangements, including a Mass of Christian Burial at the Basilica of the Sacred Heart at the University of Notre Dame, will be announced as details are finalized.

Happy birthday to Andrew Robinson, who played Garak on Deep Space Nine and voiced him on Lower Decks. He also directed one DS9 episode and two episodes of Voyager, and he wrote the novel A Stitch in Time, which tells the story of Garak's past.

@Lakers @SpectrumSN @PechangaCasino Just some friendly advice: if you rank 22nd in 3pt FG, stop taking so many 3’s. Go Lakers…

Happy birthday Brent Spiner! Data in Star Trek TNG and 4 movies, a whole bunch of Soongs on TNG, Picard, and Enterprise, a Lore/Data combo on Picard, then an animated severed head on Lower Decks. He's cohosting a new podcast with Jonny Frakes called Dropping Names.

On his birthday, we remember the great DeForest Kelley, Dr. Leonard "Bones" McCoy on the original Star Trek, The Animated Series, TNG, and in 6 films. He once had ambitions to be a doctor, but became an actor instead, appearing in many Westerns—often as a villain.

Statement from the Nobel Foundation
One of the core missions of the Nobel Foundation is to safeguard the dignity of the Nobel Prizes and their administration. The Foundation upholds Alfred Nobel’s will and its stipulations. It states that the prizes shall be awarded to those who "have conferred the greatest benefit to humankind," and it specifies who has the right to award each respective prize. A prize can therefore not, even symbolically, be passed on or further distributed.

On her birthday, remembering Joanne Linville. She was a prolific actress in film and TV from the 1950s-1980s, but is best known to #StarTrek fans as the Romulan Commander (and the series' first female Romulan) in the Original Series episode “The Enterprise Incident.“

This was Notre Dame’s reaction to being left out of the CFP.
Marcus Freeman — the guy who always has the perfect answer — tossed the remote and just shook his head.
“Normally I can get up here and tell you there’s cause and effect for a disappointment… I don’t have that answer for this one, because it doesn’t make sense.”
The whole team sat there, holding it in, letting it burn.
And MF told them exactly what to do with it:
“Keep it. Keep the pain.”
