Message to my fellow fintwitters The responsibility of giving advice is a greater burden than most people realize. I'm sure you know the feeling. From a partner asking about a stock, to friends asking what to buy, the weight of influence is already there. Nothing compares to speaking to tens, hundreds, or thousands of people who trust your judgment. Anyone who talks should be aware of who might be listening. The moral thing is to wish your listeners well and not lead them off a cliff. You might call one stock right and make someone's year, but you will miss the next one sooner or later, and that miss could ruin someone's life. Even if you made a thousand people money, would that justify destroying one person's financial future? Since we're quick to claim how we made someone rich, it would be responsible to also acknowledge when we made someone poor, instead of blaming the person who clicked "buy". The person who got rich also pressed buy on their own, but suddenly we're happy to take the credit? Please think twice before you share your next: 10x, 200% upside, "lifetime opportunity". A lot of people listen. Some of them, not knowing any better, will listen and buy. There are plenty of investors who share research and thesis with the best intentions and are responsible when doing so. But there are far more who throw out overbullish stories, hype, and price targets just for the sake of online clout. I wish you all a great weekend. Best,
