Finally today we heard from Hayley, talking about our STR2DE programme for FY2s, and about her “speak up speak out” initiative for final year medical students.

They were immediately followed by back to back presentations by Kate, on “escaping the surgical intimidation game” and a theme spotting game to replace the traditional “chunk and check” method in undergraduate surgical teaching.

We had great feedback and hope it’s provided all those who attended with some food for thought about their future career choices!

Last week we had a great time on our Access Into Medicine (AIM) course! 60 Year 11 and 12 pupils from local schools came to find out more about careers in medicine and healthcare professions. They got to speak to our doctors and nurses, and got hands-on BLS and clinical skills!
