Middleton Rovers have taken the decision to merge with @GreatDriffAFC as of next season.

@GreatDriffAFC Rovers went behind half way through the second half and were the far more dominant team for the period leading upto the final whistle. We wish Driffield Town all the best in the near round.

It was another Driff Double as the 1sts took victory in a tight affair against local rivals Middleton in the Senior County Cup. Baxters lone goal sending us into the next round. The Reserves were in league action and also featured in a tight game beating Hedon Rangers 3rds 4-3

Derby day defeat for Rovers who go down 2-1 to @GreatDriffAFC 2nds. Disappointing result given the amount of chances they had. Two very well taken goals by Driffield’s centre forward punishing Middleton’s profligacy in front of goal.

GAME IS ON!! DERBY DAY! A most curious morning in which @GreatDriffAFC 2nds called the game off due to lack of players, then called the game back on. Points awarded to Rovers then reversed by the league. Crazy. Parker’s men hoping to get back on the winning trail. #UTR

Rovers progress to the next round of the Senior Country Cup after a 3-2 away win at South Cave. A result all the more impressive given that Parker started with a midfield containing 4 lads 18 or under. Rovers stretch their unbeaten run to 7. #UTR

Rovers wake up on a high today having edged a pulsating game of football to win 1-0, in a game that, but for some magnificent goalkeeping and last ditch defending from both teams, could have finished 5-5. Five wins on the bounce now for Parker’s men (3 league and 2 Cup). #UTR

A case of “what could have been” for Rovers after a 1-3 home defeat. Led up until the 80th minute through an Eddie pile driver on his 18th birthday, only to concede three in the last 10 minutes. Well done to Cave, who kept knocking on the door. Referee was also excellent.
