@MidgetBH Definitely not. You and HyperHero had your moments here and there, but you were both pretty exemplary instances of the "more mature and respectful" kids of the previous Brawlhalla era and it's honestly been a pleasure seeing you both become adults.

💬Huge Brawl Academy + Life Update💬 TL;DR - Brawl Academy is closing and I'm stepping down as a Brawlhalla Partner. A lot of thought has gone into this which I'm going to talk about below. Those that care can read on for more info. Much love to everyone who reads to the end. ♥ Looking For Work I Enjoy About a year ago, I got laid off from a job that I loved because they couldn't afford to keep a large portion of their staff. For almost the last year exactly, I've been jumping in and out of various roles as a consultant to explore what I want to be doing professionally going forward. My background is in web development and I've spent a lot of time doing that, managing development teams, and managing development projects. I've done the solo consulting thing several times throughout my career. I've also built and run a small development agency twice. I took a break from development to explore consulting as a marketing and sales professional as well as general business consulting. I helped a bunch of clients improve their businesses through marketing and sales training/advice. I built out email marketing infrastructure for several businesses, especially a handful of Shopify stores. I enjoyed doing a bunch of non-development things to learn and explore other skills that I've had and wanted to further develop. Brawl Academy was an exercise in utilizing a lot of these skills to coach people in Brawlhalla. Our 4-Week Challenge email series got over 1000 email signups. I have hundreds of email responses in my inbox from all the people who have been through the challenge and benefitted from it. I also leveraged Brawl Academy's success to get more work as a consultant helping companies with their email marketing. Things were going pretty well, but several months into my "funemployment" some old demons started to reveal themselves again. Officially ADHD and Getting Back Into Development I've known for a very long time that I have ADHD. I've managed it well enough with no intervention for years. But in the last year, especially, it had too much of a negative impact on my ability to function at my best. I moved into managing developers and project management because my ADHD had made it virtually impossible to work effectively as a developer. Managing had become my way of coping with this, staying in tech, and giving myself a way to keep current on trends. I got an official diagnosis and started treatment a few months ago. Since then, I've been taking on development projects again because I can actually write code even better than I did previously. I've been crushing development projects and delivering way above and beyond expectations because I can actually focus well enough to see my work through to completion. Now that I can actually do the work that I love again, I've decided to fully commit to it. I'm back in the game as a developer and consulting full-time. (If you need a developer/leader/PM for a project, DM me and we can talk. I'm booking out to like October right now.) Focusing on Work and Family I've mentioned before that my wife is pregnant and due pretty soon. We're less than 2 months away from welcoming a new addition to our family and things are not nearly as financially stable as I'd like them to be. I've got work right now and we're doing okay at the moment, but I need to be working on securing future work and building a sustainable pipeline to take care of my family. This is a lot of the reason why I don't have time for Brawl Academy for the foreseeable future and why I feel it's best to step away. Around the time when my son was born, I was going through some of the darkest depression of my life. I beat that depression eventually, but it took a lot away from my ability to be present with my family. I'm not going to have that be a problem with my daughter. So, right now I have to choose the things that are most important to me, and Brawl Academy just doesn't fit in to any of my current plans. My Feelings on Brawlhalla I love Brawlhalla and the dev team behind the game. This game has given me thousands of hours of fun. It renewed my competitive spirit and let me experience the thrill of competing at the top level in a game again for what is likely the final time. It also has given me a ton of opportunity. Some of the projects I'm working on right now would not have been possible without me playing the game and meeting people in the community or building things like Brawl Academy. I will probably always play this game for as long as it exists and has an active playerbase. But, going forward I'm ultra-casual. I just don't have time to spend on it the way I would want to in order to be an effective player or coach. My Feelings on the Community For a long time, the best part about Brawlhalla was its community. It honestly feels like that time has passed. I think a lot of this has to do with older players aging out of the game and the community continuing to skew younger. A lot of these kids are frankly internet brain-rotted to a degree that's going to be really embarrassing to them when they get older, I think. It's made interacting with the community exceptionally difficult. Back in 2017 - 2019, the kids in the community largely felt more mature and respectful of each other. I've spent a lot of time in various parts of the community throughout the years trying to be a good role model for these kids, but I'm honestly just tired of it. Immaturity is exhausting and I don't have it in me to help people that aren't my actual kids with their emotional development anymore. There's still some younger people in the community that I'm cool with, but if I spend any more time in the Brawlhalla community it will almost exclusively be with other mature adults who have their shit together. I'm done with all the childish drama that's been going around a lot lately. In Closing Very soon, I'll be rebranding this Twitter account to be more inline with my goals and objectives moving forward. I'll also be largely unfollowing most people in the Brawlhalla community that I'm not friends with outside the game. The Brawl Academy 4-Week Challenge will stay online for the foreseeable future. I'll try to complete Week 4 at some point for everyone who's subscribed. If you're looking for help and want coaching, I highly recommend @lolwitty1. He was an excellent partner in Brawl Academy and is easily one of the most knowledgeable people in the game.' I'm still looking for a way to make a BCX trip work this year, but considering my newborn it may not be in the cards. I plan to stay in touch and maybe continue doing BCX in the future, though. If you're only following me for Brawlhalla/gaming content, I understand if you want to unfollow and there's no hard feelings. Going forward, this account is mostly going to be focused on my professional life with occasional personal. @itsDoubleDime idk, i think the evora is honestly probably the most fun to drive of the four. the amg gt is a work of art. id probably say the amg, and im not a crazy benz guy. r8 is iconic but just isn’t as pretty. gtr is capable of monster power but i don’t think ur going for that
