Over the weekend, @Channel4News broadcast an item on the vital research being carried out into Spontaneous Coronary Artery Dissection (SCAD) at @Leic_hospital 🫀 With funding from @heartresearchuk, Dr Coral Hanson and @uniofleicester SCAD expert Dr David Adlam are investigating how tailored physical activity can be a lifeline for those dealing with a condition that is minimally researched and generally misunderstood. New findings have shown that routine eye screening could also be used for early detection of underlying heart disease in people with #type2diabetes. 👁️🫀 This is the finding of a study carried out by researchers funded by the #NIHRLeicesterBRC published recently in @SciReports Read more about the study - where 255 patients with type 2 diabetes underwent a number of non-invasive cardiac imaging techniques at @Leic_hospital Glenfield Hospital to examine the structure and function of their heart.
