Foreign Man Violently Assaults & Attempts To Rape Woman On Train In London, Police Release CCTV. A woman travelling alone was subjected to a violent sexual assault on a Bakerloo Line Tube train in central London late on Saturday night. The incident occurred at around 11:40pm on 11 July on a southbound train between Waterloo and Lambeth North stations. The suspect exposed himself to the victim before forcibly dragging her to the floor and attempting to rape her. The woman fought back and managed to escape at Lambeth North station, where she immediately alerted staff. The suspect remained on the train and disembarked at Elephant & Castle. He was later seen in the vicinity of Piccadilly Circus Underground station. British Transport Police have released CCTV footage of the man they are urgently seeking to identify. Officers believe he may be homeless and are appealing for information to locate him before he offends again. Police have established the suspect’s movements that night. He was seen at Oxford Circus Underground station earlier in the evening. The assault took place on the Bakerloo Line heading south between Waterloo and Lambeth North. After the victim escaped, he stayed on the train until Elephant & Castle. The suspect is described as having short dark hair and was wearing a dark short-sleeved t-shirt, dark trousers, and carrying a bag or backpack. BTP detectives are treating the case with the utmost seriousness and are committed to bringing the perpetrator to justice.
