Take your time before taking a deal, vet carefully, cross reference, use contact emails. Think critically, take a moment of research. You are capable of checking the validity of who you work with, take charge of this. You can find the good people, don't just take a word for it. Ask friends if (x) worked with (y) before and then cross check THAT. Use company contact emails to cross reference, look at prior experience, scan socials. Never make a decision right away, sit on it for a few days.
I was given the opportunity to join Luminara and I turned it down. In the past I worked with Camana through two “management groups” that fell apart. Lots of people were hurt in those as well. I originally joined because he promised me help with my social medias as he was running Zentreya’s youtube. He was promising me growth, and I spent thousands on editors for him to hardly help and keep passing me off to others. When I met him in person he kept flexing any and every connection he had. Although people cannot say shit for professional reasons, if you noticed there were MANY red flags around Luminara. It worried me so much seeing such amazing people working with them. Talents and staff, I am so sorry for what you are going through. I’m sure many of you were blind sighted. You deserve better.
When you work with creators, there is a trust you build that you will treat them and their identity with care. When they put you in a position of power, you are not there to abuse that power; you are there because they trust that you won’t. Be honest. Lower the ladder. Do good.
This morning, 3 Luminara talents have announced that they are parting ways with the company. On top of this, an investor also broke ties and owner Camana announced he is transfering ownership?! What is going on? 😅
Small reminder PSA because lots of eyes lately We LOVE everyone reaching out showing interest in SVA. So many wonderful faces have been in contact. We would love to hook you all up to a slop farm and generate content for us, BUT at the moment we are not looking for talents. Keep in mind shooting your shot is fine and all, but doing it to staff, other talents, multiple emails, alternative email routes or dms to us is NOT the way to go and could ruin chances. If we ever are on the hunt for more talents we will clearly post about it with full audition details if that time comes again! Just to help out, how it works is agencies seek you out or do auditions, emailing "what are your requirements to join" is not typically how it works! Wait for auditions if any happen and if not just enjoy our content!
this fan believes in @sayusyn so much that he collected 608 and when he explained to me that there needs to be bay area rep at offkai I immediately understood. I told him “how can I become signature 609?” I could see he was almost on the verge of tears bc he believes in his oshi so much from the pure exhaustion of fighting for what you think is right. sayu, anybody who knows me can tell you I don’t give a fuck about anything, but without trying, some stranger I don’t even know could make me care because I know how that exhaution feels. @OffKaiExpo needs to have bay area talent!!!
