Congratulations to Oklahoma City’s Shai Gilgeous-Alexander for being named Sports Illustrated’s Sportsperson of the Year! This honor has been bestowed annually since 1954, and Shai is the first Oklahoman to receive it as the named recipient. This is also @shaiglalex’s first print @SInow cover and OKC’s first in seven years. (This feat has gotten more difficult since the magazine became a monthly. In our form of government, the Mayor and Council hire the City Manager, the Municipal Counselor, the City Auditor and the Municipal Judges. Today, two new judges took office - Kay Floyd (who many know from her years in the Oklahoma Legislature) and Gunner Briscoe. They join Presiding Judge Donald Kiffin and Judge Edward Hasbrook. We are grateful for their service!
