I welcome the news that the protection of the nurse title will be further strengthened in law. The trust people place in registered nurses is based on our rigorous training and education which gives us the skills and knowledge to deliver high quality, safe and personalised care.

🚨 We did it — we’re changing the law! So happy to say, on #InternationalNursesDay, that the Labour Government is adopting my Bill to legally protect the job title ‘Nurse’. 🥳 It will keep patients safe & ensure respect for the profession. Huge congrats @protectnurse.👏🏾

It was a big day last week presenting my Ten Minute Rule Bill to #ProtectNurse. 💙 I was shocked that anyone can call themselves a nurse! So, my Bill would prevent misuse of the title - enhancing patient safety & ensuring respect for registered nurses. ICYMI, my recap ⏪📽️
