One month into 2026, eastern CT residents are getting hit hard with health insurance premium increases. I spoke with constituents who are now paying over 350% more per month for coverage – or have chosen not to renew their coverage at all because plans were completely unaffordable. These costs are far more than a monthly mortgage. All of the constituents I spoke with are still dumbfounded that the Senate won’t take up the bipartisan bill that the House passed to extend ACA tax credits for three years and bring these costs down.

Every Member of Congress has a duty to help restore the American people’s trust in this institution. House Republicans are taking a real, positive, tangible step forward with the Stop Insider Trading Act — a serious effort to crack down on abuses. The Trump Administration is trying again to stop the Revolution Wind offshore wind, citing vague national security concerns. The national security issue has been already been settled in the courts, in Congress, and most definitively by the Department of Defense just a year ago. Terminating offshore wind production will do nothing but increase electricity costs and eliminate good paying jobs.

Today, Groton shipbuilders officially delivered the future USS IDAHO (SSN 799) to the U.S. Navy. This is the second Virginia-class submarine delivered in 2025—proof of the growing momentum for the program thanks to record hiring at the shipyard and huge investments by Congress into the industrial base.
