Like Daf Jenkins at Exeter, Tomos Williams is also straight back into club action as skipper with Gloucester after starting every Six Nations match for Wales.

@tweetsfromben @AsaFoodAndWine @RuckTheWRU @CraigosP1 Crap How many Lions have the other regions or parts of Wales produced compared to the Ospreys or had 13 out of 15 in a Welsh team that won in Twickenham
English

@MikeFromNeath1 @AsaFoodAndWine @RuckTheWRU @CraigosP1 Just look at the great players from pretty much every bit of Wales - all of which consider themselves the real rugby heartland

@tweetsfromben @AsaFoodAndWine @RuckTheWRU @CraigosP1 Are you real Just have a look at the great players from the Ospreys region!
English

@AsaFoodAndWine @MikeFromNeath1 @RuckTheWRU @CraigosP1 Also why does every area of Wales consider itself the nation’s rugby heartland?
English

@AsaFoodAndWine @tweetsfromben @RuckTheWRU @CraigosP1 We have a permanent stadium waiting for the go ahead How can you not have a regiin covering the main rugby heartland in Wales and tgat has prioduced world greats like Shane AWJ Henson Tipuric etc
English

@MikeFromNeath1 @tweetsfromben @RuckTheWRU @CraigosP1 I think your anger may be misplaced there. While I think the Ospreys could have - under different circumstances - put up a compelling case to retain a license, with no permanent stadium and owners who aren’t committed, it may just be a case of accelerating the inevitable
English

@AsaFoodAndWine @tweetsfromben @RuckTheWRU @CraigosP1 It is down to WRU acting immorally and not in best interest of game by accepting Y11 as preferred bidder for Cardiff when they had other bids which is shocking. Tierney was proud to save jobs in Cardiff but does not care about Ospreys jobs!
English

@MikeFromNeath1 @tweetsfromben @RuckTheWRU @CraigosP1 The Ospreys aren’t being ‘binned’ because anyone’s challenging what they’ve contributed historically.
The Ospreys are in this position because of a combination of their owners putting them there, and frankly damn bad luck.
English

@RuckTheWRU @CraigosP1 Depends what the goal is. £6m is enough if the goal is to have 4 teams exist. If we accept they are all development teams for English clubs. £6m isn’t enough to compete in Europe or keep players in Wales but if ambition is scaled back they can exist
English

@AsaFoodAndWine @tweetsfromben @RuckTheWRU @CraigosP1 So bin the best region who have contributed more to Wales and the British Lions than any other and that covers Wales’s second city and 500k population Great idea!
English

@tweetsfromben @RuckTheWRU @CraigosP1 … not to mention it also takes money away from the rest of the areas we ought to be investing in.

@Oweninsouts @westkid44 Ospreys are not a pretend region and in 2019 Wales were number 1 in the world with 4 regions.
English

@MikeFromNeath1 @westkid44 Pretend Regions are no 1 problem - Schools development can link with new and integrated WRU regions representing
WRU Gwent
WRU Glamorgan
WRU West
English

@TheVietGwent So you think binning the region which has produced more Welsh and British Lion caps and been the strongest and most successful region is the way ahead?
English

@MikeFromNeath1 1. Their debt is now going back up to £60m.
2. The Scarlets are just outside of Swansea.
3. Ridiculously close by English PRL standards.
4. I don't believe 4 to 3 should be via a cull and I am genuinely sorry that the Ospreys have been driven off a cliff since Hore/Guthrie left.
English

1. Having completely botched the resource concentration into 4 teams in 2003 & 2004, the WRU have put forward a complete bodge job of a proposed resource concentration into 3 teams in 2025-26.
2. Yet it is just so Welsh rugby that the ‘alternative plan’ is not even serious.

For those asking about Rob Regan’s alternative plan for welsh rugby, please see the link below: ysa.wales
English

@Oweninsouts @westkid44 Cardiff and Ospreys joining with 40 mikes between them Wales won 4 grand slams with 4 regions The most successful model Ireland has 4 provinces. There is a theme here and we need development officers in schools. That is where the real pathway is not in buildings!!
English

@westkid44 Agreed Howard - Gwent, Glamorgan & West Wales makes so much sense.
Just wish WRU clubs would propose such a obvious and sensible idea.

@Richard99366022 We are based all week in Llandarcy I don’t think that They play in black and are called Ospreys
English

@TheVietGwent Scarlets would never be accepted in Swansea/Neath. There needs to be a forensic examination of the WRU’s accounts as where has the money gone Regional funding is down from £19.3 million in 2016 to £17.8 million in 2025 and the funding of community game dropped £1 million in same
English

@TheVietGwent WRU balance sheet is not declining They announced record turnover of £117 million and £6million is £1.5 million than the regions get now and we still keep 2 regions west and a region covering Wales’ second city
English

@MikeFromNeath1 1. The wrong question. What's right with the alternative 'plan'...?
2. It's more 'away with the fairies' than the Collier-Keywood 'plan' that at least accepts that 4 heavily cross-subsidised competitive teams is now beyond the strength of an ever declining WRU balance sheet.
English

@DMRees2011 Player budgets of £6m aren't big enough.
The current salary cap in England is £6.4m before you add in international player credits and marquee players which means they are potentially £7-8m.
The regions are around £5.1m at the moment.
English

Thanks to @Richard99366022 for providing the link, this seems achievable and realistic archive.ph/2026.03.18-183…
