Really important lawsuit we filed today against Roblox. The stories we have heard are horrendous. We are going to protect kids in Nebraska and this suit is a critical first step.

Spoke with some students today and was asked in what they should specialize in law school if they want to be in government. That’s a question I get a lot, in some form or fashion. I told them to focus on being good at developing relationships, building trust, and building the soft skills needed to be an elite professional. That means: Authentic listening Emotional resilience Curiosity Humility Etc And being responsive, conscientious, on time, detailed, and a hard worker. In my experience, that’s a better starting point than “focus on subject area X”

There’s no bad day as attorney general. But today was one of the best. I finally got to meet in person a retired Kearney couple who, after losing their whole life savings from fraud, got all their money back after we jumped into action. They gave me this amazing homemade apple pie and incredible note.

@mikehilgers There seems to be a problem with judges letting habitually offending people out to reoffend. OPD’s @omahaPOA has done an excellent job at spotlighting many of the worst examples in Omaha. It’s an issue in Lincoln too.

Why is Lincoln's violent crime rate up so much year-over-year? The national trend has been downward.

@nebmeantweets They did. The increase in violent crime was a bit buried in the coverage, IMO.

@mikehilgers FYI: 15 years ago a violent robber held a gun to the head of my son Samuel in his UNO dorm room. Story never made the OWH. Robber took 3 laptops. I electronically located one laptop but @OmahaPolice fumbled the case. Called the Mayor of Omaha office and they told me to F off.

Our position is that they didn't have enough signatures to be on the ballot in the first place. That question is pending before the Nebraska Supreme Court right now; we will see what they say when the order comes down. I certainly understand the passion. I think people who voted for it have a right to question / be upset at those who ran the campaign. Plenty of other ballot initiative campaigns have been run without criminal convictions.

@mikehilgers Praying that mayor in Omaha keeps the murder rate low. We do not want any more people dying that shouldn’t be.

That seems like an odd reason for increase in crime. I hope 100% of Nebraskans--including all those who voted for the petitions--are upset about the widespread fraud that we uncovered. Multiple criminal prosecutions, including a 24-count guilty verdict from a jury of their peers. Very concerning.
