I hosted a US billionaire in Lagos… and I didn’t even know it would actually happen. In 2019, Jack Dorsey tweeted he was coming to Africa — and Nigeria was on the list. By the Way, Jack Dorsey was the co-founder and CEO of X, formerly Twitter. He is currently worth $6.3 Billion. The moment I saw that tweet, I told my team: we have to host him.” No invite. No connection. Just belief. I started reaching out to anyone I knew at Twitter. Eventually, one person replied: ‘I’ll check who’s handling the trip. Days later… silence. Then suddenly, I get introduced to his Chief of Staff. And everything started moving fast. Next thing: background checks. The security team shows up in our office 2 days before for inspection. At that point, it became real.” Then boom, Jack Dorsey and his leadership team are sitting in my office in Lagos.” That one visit changed everything for us, It turned our office into a global stop for international leaders.” But here’s the craziest part… There was no special access. No guaranteed outcome. We just decided it was possible — and moved. So next time you’re doubting yourself… Try first. You don’t need permission to go for big opportunities.

Nigeria Police Force
NPF CONDEMNS THREATENING CONDUCT BY POLICE OFFICER IN VIRAL VIDEO, ORDERS IMMEDIATE DISCIPLINARY ACTION The Nigeria Police Force has taken cognisance of a viral video circulating on social media involving ASP Newton Isokpehi, in which the officer was seen making threatening remarks against members of the public filming police activities. The Force wishes to state unequivocally that the conduct and utterances exhibited in the video are unacceptable, unprofessional, and inconsistent with the ethics, standards, and code of conduct of the Nigeria Police Force. Such actions run contrary to the ongoing reform initiatives of the Force aimed at promoting transparency, accountability, professionalism, and citizen-focused policing. The Inspector-General of Police, IGP Olatunji Rilwan Disu, psc(+), NPM, has consistently maintained that members of the public have the right to lawfully record police officers carrying out their duties, provided such recording does not obstruct operations, compromise safety, or interfere with lawful police activities. In line with this position, the officer involved has since been identified and summoned to the Anambra State Command Headquarters where immediate disciplinary procedures have commenced. The Nigeria Police Force does not tolerate threats, intimidation, abuse of office, or any conduct capable of undermining public trust and confidence in law enforcement institutions. The Force further reiterates that recording police activities remains a legitimate tool for public accountability and transparency and should not, in itself, attract harassment or intimidation from police personnel while discharging their duties. A formal statement detailing the outcome of the disciplinary measures taken against the officer will be communicated in due course. The Nigeria Police Force appreciates members of the public for their continued partnership and constructive engagement in promoting accountability, professionalism, and improved policing standards across the country. The Dangote Refinery IPO is coming in September 2026. Most Nigerians are excited about it. Very few understand what an IPO actually is, what they are buying, or what happens to their money after they invest. This thread explains IPOs from the very beginning and uses the biggest one in African history to show you exactly how it all works. Read this before you put a single naira into any public offer.

Tony Elumelu just spent $500 million to become Seplat Energy’s single largest shareholder. For me, this is a land grab. Seplat controls some of the most valuable onshore oil and gas assets in Nigeria. Elumelu now sits above every other shareholder at the table, with a board seat incoming and full governance leverage. For decades, Nigeria’s most strategic energy assets were controlled by multinationals who extracted value and repatriated profits. Elumelu is reversing that architecture, block by block. UBA gives him the financial empire. Transcorp gives him the power generation infrastructure. Heirs Energies gives him upstream oil and gas. Now Seplat gives him influence over midstream and export. At some point one will stop calling this a portfolio and start calling it a parallel energy state. The succession planning conversation around Seplat just got very interesting. Because the most powerful man at that table did not inherit the seat. He bought it ooo

Without Tinubu's interference, Fubara would have retired Wike from Rivers politics. History will document how they used a state of emergency to play politics in Rivers State.

I have four domestic staff: 2 nannies and 2 cleaners. Yesterday was my son’s birthday, and one of them, a visiting cleaner, came around. Though she was on shift, she bought a birthday gift and gifted my son. Now I want to repay her for this kind gesture, but I am stuck. Should I give her a raise or just maybe dash her something when paying her? If you were me, what’s the best way to pay back this kindness?

@Chima_Obi1234 Fubara refused fighting back because the FG is supporting Wike. If he tries, they will attempt to impeach him, or declare another state of emergency or stop the states allocation. It's a complex situation. Best option is to walk away

Before I sign off talking about Gov. Fubara, let me state that he’s not a weak man. I had a deep thought before arriving at this conclusion. Honestly, only Fubara knows what he has seen and suffered under the power in charge. If you take your mind back to how the issue started, it started like a simple quarrel over disagreement with his political godfather, Wike, on how Rivers State IGR is being controlled and uniting those Wike sees as enemies, like Uche Secondus, Celestine Omehia, Peter Odili, etc., close to the state government. Boom! It became a serious offence to Wike that he was nearly impeached by the majority of the state house members. He was sabotaged by all federal forces including police. 80% of the Assembly members turned against him and couldn’t be won back. Fubara was denied access to presenting a state budget. The Assembly members stopped receiving correspondence from him. He was cancelled and discommunicated terribly to a length that he couldn’t perform the legitimate democratic functions of his office. Many governors even in the Southeast have had similar disagreement with their political bosses, yet it wasn’t escalated into such extreme cancellation. I’m aware of a serving governor who united bigwigs of former this and that in the state whom his boss (the former) sees as enemies, yet no fight was taken to him. The former governor never cried of him destroying his political structure. Fubara saw hell, and democratic institutions under his watch were abruptly and cruelly suspended for 6 months. He joined APC, yet APC as a ruling party and the governors' forum could not save him from the same man who is not even a registered member of the same APC. Over 90 aspirants, both NASS members and state assembly members who never joined in cancelling him, were all screened out from contesting an election. Is that not cruel? Guess what? He would’ve been impeached if he had not joined the APC. Fubara wasn’t weak but met a situation above him and above anyone who sincerely wants to govern a state. APC is exploding easily. Take a look at the numbers of current political and elective officeholders under APC who are crying—going to 100 if not above. The party is reaching its breaking point easily. Soonest, it will explode worse than the PDP. Fubara is not a weak man.

Let me be honest about something first before the jokes begin. I do not like Wike’s methods, his political morality, his use of public resources for personal vendettas, or his land-for-journalists arrangement, but I will give the devil his due because intellectual honesty requires it. Wike is one of the smartest political tacticians Nigeria has produced in this generation, and what he has done to Fubara is a masterclass in godfather warfare that deserves to be studied, even by those of us who find it deeply troubling. This is what Wike actually did. He is a PDP member sitting in an APC cabinet as FCT Minister, openly acknowledging that he has loyalists in both PDP and APC simultaneously, calling it a rainbow coalition, a strategy because they have somebody they will fight. He controls party structures in Rivers inside a party he does not belong to. The APC primaries for the House of Representatives in Rivers just concluded, and Fubara’s men are missing across the 13 federal constituencies while Wike’s loyalists emerged as candidates. Kingsley Chinda, Wike’s man, has been cleared to contest the governorship primary against Fubara on May 21. Sixty-five of Fubara’s House of Assembly aspirants were disqualified during APC screening while all 33 Wike loyalists sailed through. Fubara joined APC to escape Wike’s PDP grip and walked straight into Wike’s APC grip. The man is not fighting in one party. He is fighting in every party simultaneously, and winning in all of them. That is architecture.

Dear Frank Edoho, this is a financial and life advisory from someone who has been watching. First, the school fees, the properties, the years of provision, the emotional labour, all of that is gone and it is not coming back, mourn it for exactly 30 days, after that it becomes a tuition fee for the most expensive masterclass in human character assessment you will ever attend, file it under education and move forward. Second, you are 57 years old, still handsome, still distinguished, still employed, still relevant, still the man who made “is that your final answer” a cultural moment in Nigerian television history. The woman who left that did not leave because you were not enough, she left because some people confuse a blessing for an entitlement, that is her problem now, not yours. Third, your next investment will not be in a woman who needs building, you have already built two complete human beings from scratch with your resources, your time, and your emotional capacity. Going forward you are only investing in something that already has equity, no fixer upper projects or rehabilitation contracts, you are not NNPC and you cannot afford another turnaround maintenance scam. Fourth, separate your finances permanently and structurally, whatever you own going forward carries your name only until a relationship has proven itself over years not months, love is beautiful but a joint account requires the same due diligence as a business partnership….which it literally is. Fifth, the woman making noise publicly right now naming people and building a victim narrative is doing you a favour you have not recognised yet. She is showing everyone watching exactly who she is without you having to say a single word, your silence is not weakness Frank, your silence is evidence, let it speak. Sixth, stop falling in love with potential, you are a television professional, you understand production, you know the difference between a pilot episode and a complete series, stop funding pilots that never make it to season two. Now the most important advice of all. Come back to television, but not with a quiz show this time, Nigeria has moved past multiple choice questions, we are living in an era of N800 billion missing from FAAC, senators buying tax clearance like recharge cards, a Budget Office that has gone silent on the biggest budget in history, and a government that travels the world giving speeches about transparency while accountability stays at home. Come back with a current affairs programme, sharp, structured, uncomfortable, the kind of show where powerful people sweat under studio lights and ordinary Nigerians get the questions actually answered, hosted by a man who has already survived two public storms with his dignity completely intact, which means nobody can threaten him, blackmail him, or buy him with a land allocation. Nigeria needs a broadcaster who has nothing left to lose and everything to say, and after what you have been through Frank, that man is you. The show writes itself, the audience is already waiting, and this time when you ask the question, we will not be thinking about the money. We will be thinking about the answer. Is that your final answer Frank? Make it count this time.
