Some quick takeaways: 1. Charging takes longer than the Rivian route planner anticipates due to the truck deregulating. 2. Longer charges aren't bad when timed with a meal; the kids like the time to stretch out. 3. Driver+ and the hotspot are game-changers for longer trips.

In Arkansas, the charging infrastructure is lacking, but we have a 60-amp plug for the Rivian. It took some effort, but now it's charging well. No range anxiety when you can charge at your destination on long, remote trips like this.

The first half of our annual 1800-mile Thanksgiving road trip is in the books, this time with the Rivian R1S. I'm sharing the play-by-play and some stats for the nerds.

I'm really enjoying the Ricoh GR IIIx. There's definitely a learning curve, but it's incredibly powerful once you get it dialed in.
