Fun story about Uri Foox, who is playing for $1M this week at the @WPT Prime Final Table. I met Uri before I ever got into content creation. We met at a nightly tournament and became really good friends bonding over poker, being new dads, and trying to adapt to Minnesota. He moved from NYC and I moved from LA. During my content journey he’s been there every step of the way. Helping me interview @phil_hellmuth (he dealt to us while we played heads up), convincing me to play on Hustler Casino Live (I won $20,000) and pushing me to focus on content full time. I’m insanely blessed to have him as a friend. During the time I’ve known him, we have played as tag team partners 3 times. The first time he built a stack of over 100bbs in the late stages of the tournament. I punted the entire thing in a three way all in with AQo preflop. The next time he got us to a similar position with 70bb and I punted it with TT. Most people wouldn’t talk to me after something like that, but that wasn’t the case with Uri. This event goes on every year, and when the time rolled around again I was actually dreading it. I mean how many times can you mess it up without losing a friend 😂 But sure enough he got me to play it and somehow… we won it! That trophy sits right on my desk that I see every day. There are a lot of negative people in poker, but Uri isn’t one of them. I can’t wait to cheer on Uri as he chases an epic dream. If you tune into the WPT Prime final table, say a quick prayer to the Poker Gods for Uri Foox!

Thursday Night Football has got to be the worst national NFL broadcast. Al Michaels is grumpy and disinterested, and all they muse about are broad narratives - minimal X’s and O’s. Just trying to appeal to the more uninformed fan possible. ESPN’s NHL play-by-play is the same.

In 2020, I voted for Biden. I only posted about it after the election. I enjoyed lots of positive comments and support about it. Foolishly I thought this was because people liked me sharing my opinion. In 2024, I voted for Trump. I had a single tweet about it after the election. Since then, I have recieved thousands of attacks on me across all the social platforms. DM's telling me to kill myself. Threads about how I'm the problem with America. I personally passed the gambling tax. I am the enemy. I am a nazi. You name it. This has been a learning experience for me in a few ways. 1) I dont view people differently based on who they voted for. They are trying to make their best choice. But that is NOT how other people view it. A vote against my guy means I hate you. 2) Its particularly bad to post anything indicating support for the right. Anyone who voted R is evil and only did so for nefarious reasons. 3) I do not think its worth sharing political opinions unless you actually enter politics. Who knows if that will happen for me down the road, but I dont see myself taking such tremendous grief again for just sharing my opinions on the election.
