Ukrainians have already made huge advances in tactical and strategic-depth UAVs. Now we’re seeing the new operational depth drones (100-300km range) being deployed, designed to destroy Russian supply lines. apple.news/ANEGWCDCVSF2wK…

BREAKING | Reports circulating in the past few hours say the Russian Ambassador to the UN told the Security Council that Ukraine intends to launch drones from Latvia and other Baltic states. Moscow has been publicly building the narrative for weeks that the Baltic states allow drone attacks from their soil against Russia. Pattern fits how Moscow builds pretexts, first the internal narrative, then the diplomatic move, then the operational one. What could follow: continued political destabilization, hybrid provocations on the border, or in more extreme scenarios something more direct.

At a time of war in the Middle East, the US has no ambassador in Saudi Arabia, the UAE, Qatar, Iraq or Kuwait. At a time of war in Europe, there is no US ambassador in Russia or Ukraine. Altogether some 115 of 195 ambassador posts are vacant. @RobbieGramer wsj.com/politics/polic…

🇺🇸🇨🇳Ahead of the May 14-15 Trump-Xi summit, analysts say the meeting could become a major test of power, leverage and personality between the leaders of the United States and China. 🇺🇸🇨🇳 The talks are expected to touch on Iran, Taiwan, trade negotiations and the shifting geopolitical balance between Washington and Beijing. @mikercarpenter

@jimsciutto @JuliaDavisNews Lots of untapped opportunities for US defense industry too. Too many companies are focused on selling to Ukraine rather than learning and co-producing.

The sharp reversal in who is helping whom is one of the most remarkable stories of the Ukraine war:
Jennifer Jacobs@JenniferJJacobs

Scoop via @CBSNews: A memo between US and Ukraine outlines the terms of a defense deal between the two countries. It would allow Ukraine to export its military tech to the US and manufacture drones in joint ventures with American companies, @aidan_stretch reports.

I personally believe it would have made an enormous difference, as I argued in the piece below. Ukraine needed modern weapons to better match Russia’s capabilities, especially at the start of the war, before China, North Korea and Iran got involved. reader.foreignaffairs.com/2025/07/01/ukr…

🇺🇸🇺🇦 Biden Admin alums like Jake Sullivan continue to argue that giving more weapons, more quickly, such as ATACMS, wouldn't have made a difference. A talking point debunked by General Cavoli. Panetta is correct and Sullivan is wrong, unsurprisingly.
