It isn't at all. So the question is.....Why are they pushing so hard to get it dismissed? Why do you think they didn't stop all the illegals from pouring into the country? Why aren't they stopping the proven illegal scams and activity?

Where Do I Fly Now That the Nest Is Empty? Good Morning World!!! I haven’t eaten or moved around much for the last three days. When I’m upset, my whole system revolts and solid food becomes… hypothetical. I’ve felt weak and weary. Not just in my body but in my soul. But today is going to be different. I’m not sure what I’ll break my fast with, but it will be something simple and sweet. And I know today is different because when I went for my morning pee, I grabbed the trash and took it out before coffee. Now, to most people, that’s nothing. But I normally do absolutely nothing between peeing, grabbing coffee, and sitting down to write. That is my sacred sequence. Breaking it? A cosmic event. Maybe it was avoidance. I’ve got a case of what I call the Big Bad Uglies. Too many emotions piled on top of each other to separate them into neat little boxes. And writing is how I usually sort the mess. So this morning I put on my Love Songs playlist, scrolled for a couple of minutes, and a post popped up reminding me of something I forget far too easily: I have made an impact. A positive one. One person at a time. And sometimes, through my writing, far more than one. That was the dream, wasn’t it? To be a writer who made people feel less alone because writers did that for me. Sitting here now, looking at the life I’ve lived and the role I’ve carried for 11 years, I keep asking myself: Who am I without all of that? What does life look like now? A lot less housework. A lot more quiet. A lot more “me” time. What do I build with that space? What projects will I invent? What will I finally accomplish? I love our house, but right now it doesn’t feel like a home. It feels like a never-ending to-do list wearing a roof. I never thought I’d want to move again, but between local politics and everything else, I’ve been itching to run since year two. I’ve felt trapped. And suddenly… I’m not. We can leave. And I don’t know where to go. Or who I’m supposed to be. Or what purpose I’m meant to step into next. Once again, my life as I know it is ending and some new adventure is waiting for me on the other side. Have a great day, and may the algorithm always be in your favor. And remember, God loves you no matter what.

So we're really just going to forget about the Epstein files, huh. Well it must be nice to rich and powerful, I guess.

ISO 9660 (1988) CD-ROM filesystem only allowed eight nested directory levels. Why? Who knows. Need deeper hierarchy? Tough luck. Later extensions (Rock Ridge, Joliet) relaxed rules, but burning CDs or mounting old ISO images occasionally resurrects archaic directory-depth demons. ISO9660: a filesystem fossilized in amber—painfully limited, eternally annoying.

It is because of the New York Times article. Since the NYT is seen as a source of truth, they had to take action. But a more interesting question is why the NYT would allow its staff to look into such issues. How did Latinos move from a reflexively protected category in the NYT’s eyes to a group capable of being criticized? I feel like this is a precursor to other future moves of the narrative. Or I'm a conspiracy theorist, now. (shrug)

It’s truly confusing. As a Californian I’ve watched people ignore this man’s obviously shady legacy all my life. Why the sudden, immediate response by the politicians now?

While I'm a radio fan, I wasn't aware there was such a thing as CBS News Radio, so rest in peace CBS News Radio. My love of radio mostly centers on KROQ and KUCI in the 1980s, a Prairie Home Companion, and Home Truths with John Peel on BBC Radio 4. Home Truths would be incredible to revisit now, because it documents a version of the UK that has almost disappeared. Just like Prairie Home Companion documents an America that is gone.

I think as part of my post-midlife crisis, I'm going to become a swing dance guy or maybe a karate guy. What should my new identity be?

Back in 1989 (?), I was at university in California at some event with students and professors. Catering had set out grapes. I ate some, and a professor chided me because we were supposed to avoid fruit in solidarity with the farm workers' strike. I ate the grapes anyway and told the professor I didn't care about the strike. I feel somewhat vindicated about that now, given today's news.

I have 800 followers, which lets the algorithm show my posts to about 12 people, does that mean if I had 8000 followers, my posts would be shown to 120 people?

I got a form e-mail back from my senator. It was a response to one of the two e-mails I've sent. I'm not sure which one, and he basically just offered me a link to his voting record. I think that if I were a senator, I'd have my team maintain a FAQ about my positions and how I've worked on them, so when my team sent out a form letter, they could at least point to the relevant section of the FAQ.
